We are still having fun drawing in Vacaville over at Somewhere To Sketch. I decided to step outside the box this day and drew signs around town instead of buildings. We are famous for our many OUTLET STORES so I "drove virtually speaking" around that area via Street Maps View and found these signs to draw.
Coming home and painting what I drew is very calming.
On Tuesday I ate at Tacos Jalisco and drew these folks in different parts of the room. I sectioned off my large (9 x 12) art journal page and gave everyone their own box. The guy in the far upper left corner knew I was drawing them from clear across the room!
He came up to me later and said "What are you scribbling there?" "Where am I?" So I showed him.
The middle upper couple were, I think, a mom and an adult daughter.
And the man on the far right upper square came in alone and sat there. Later his woman friend/wife? came in and they moved to a larger table. But I didn't draw her.
The gal on the far left and the guy in the middle and the gal on the far right were all with other people, none of whom I could see because other people in my line of vision covered their table partners up. So I just drew who I could see.
I like how the guy and gal both have pony tails back to back!
The feet dancing over the blond woman is Carlos' new painting.
The gal on the right is half hidden by a water cooler.
and the Guy in the middle was drinking a Coke!
I told you I'd keep telling Patty Stories.
I took this photo on my table in my art studio and Patty and I (in the picture) just happened to be there. I like thinking she is still looking at my art work,
as she was my hugest fan. When Patty used to go to an art show with me where my art hung, or when she happened to be at my house looking at something I did, she ALWAYS ran her fingers over it, she needed to feel it for some reason. I can kind of understand this if it's a textile piece,
but it was the same with my drawings. Like a good mother fawning over her child's art.
I always felt loved and honored by her.
I'll post this with Paint Party Friday, If my computer is working tomorrow night. Hopefully scheduling still happens say from my iPad??? Or a friends computer. I just bought a new computer, but something terrible happened and it died. Two days old, and it died. So it's going back to the factory. And it may be a bit before I get it replaced. In the meantime, I am holding my breath for this old clunker to last me through.
Have a good week. A dead computer is not as bad as a dead friend.
I'd give into a life time without a computer to have my friend back. I would!
