In retrospect this dive into drawing in Israel via Google Street Maps over at Somewhere To Sketch, Ann Hyde's and my new blog, has been a trip down memory lane and very healing for me.
You can read the whole story on that blog. Here I will just focus on the art itself.
Top picture is folks getting off a boat or some perhaps going to board in Elat, Israel, a sea town on the southern most tip of that State.
This an ancient synagogue in Israel from around 20 BC in the Roman architecture of that time.
Two fellows found playing chess before or after a dive in the Red Sea. Also in Elat.
An old building or wall found near the Wailing wall, which was my first picture done on this virtual jaunt to Israel. All these drawings were done using my new LAMY fountain pen, black ink, and Winsor & Newton watercolors. The one above used blue Prismcolor ink pen .005 instead of watercolor.
And finally one Israeli soldier, so young, and so important to the safety of Israel and all it's people there. Again, more story about the military over at Somewhere To Sketch.
Now we are drawing virtually in the Tuscany Region in Italy. Come join us, follow us and draw with us there! We'd love to have you.
In the meantime, in real time life, I am taking classes in ASL to learn American Sign Language to better communicate with my grand daughter. It's a lot of fun. I learn in class and study at home via sites on line where vocabulary and finger spelling are taught. I am even signing in my dreams and while driving the car. No, NOT THAT sign! LOL
Happy Paint Party Friday and Happy Sunday Sketchers(ing)!
Thanks for your comments, they make my day!
