It's such a good painting, and really a joy to receive and keep. I hope you like it too. So summery!
This is the BEFORE shot of my laundry area!
wastebasket for garbage; and a goodwill bag!
Beige carpet has more than served us these past 22 years, signified by
the gathering of spots and frayed edges; and vinyl in the kitchen
did it's job well as putting up with our feet and scuff marks,
holding us for food preparations and computer needs.
I thank them both, as we prepare to send them on
to the rubbish heap in the great beyond!
Amen
to give that finished look when the flooring guy came in to measure rooms
and give us the estimate and nearly put us into shock!
as we want our remaining years in this house to
be more comfortable and livable and why not more
attractive and pleasant to the eye?
I have a couple of those cards by Judy Buswell. I love how she paints. Well you just gave your old faithful flooring the memorial it deserved. It lived a long life & served you well, but in the end it just wore out. Long live the new flooring and paint job.
ReplyDeleteI have seen those Judy Buswell cards here too. They are gorgeous as you can see.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see how your home comes along with the remodel. You will feel like you have a new home.
Lovely card, Lynn. Seems like something you would like! I know what it's like to get bids on remodels. I am always so amazed at how expensive the labor is. I would have done it myself a few years back, but now I don't seem to have the motivation. Hope all goes well with whoever you pick.
ReplyDeleteInteresting concept bids. I decided not to go with one of the large hardware stores (Lowes, Home Depot) but to go instead with a small local long time business establishment. (Amphletts). So I did not do a lot of comparison shopping price wise. I looked at laminate and tiles at the larger stores and was frankly overwhelmed with the huge array of choices. I actually liked that I found things I liked at the small store with far fewer choices but enough to choose from. I somehow felt I could trust the workmanship as this store depends solely on this type of product and work and has been in business a very long time. That alone was the rep I went on. Now with fingers crossed I hope my thinking is right.
ReplyDeleteHi Lynn, We just got back from a 5 day road trip to LA and Vegas and I'm now just catching up on my blogs. Wow! All that cleaning you've been doing...it must be a good feeling to declutter. I loved your post about what you've accomplished in your 60's. Happy Birthday! I can't wait to see what you accomplish in your 70's!
ReplyDeleteOh and by the way, I read your comment about the new Sommerset Sewing and ran out and got it today. It's beyond fabulous! Stay tuned for some new cowgirl art.
ReplyDeleteI never said goodbye to my bedraggled carpets and linoleum as it went to that final resting place, the landfill. You will love having new flooring, it feels so good to sit in your living room and look around and say "this looks nice now" instead of old and worn.
ReplyDeleteThis is so exciting!
ReplyDeleteThat laundry area looks so much better and I love to see before and after pictures!
I wish we could do some cleaning and trow away things!
The problem it to keep it that neat......
Have a nice day!
