I will let my art journal pages tell the story:
We were there from 9 am till 10 pm. We are home now and in recovery mode. Me from fatigue, him from surgery/fatigue/pain, etc. Life goes on and Life is Good!

best wishes to you both, I have spent some time there as well, its very tiring, at least you are spending your time well, beautifully, I will give this one more try, fifth try at word verification, its very difficult for my impaired vision,
ReplyDeleteLaurie, I am so sorry. I put it on last week after receiving a rash of anonymous comments all wanting to sell me something. But now after you reporting your experience I've removed it once more. I'd rather delete them as they come through than miss a visit from you!
DeleteYou got some great art done while waiting. It helps to be busy when waiting ..helps the time pass. Hope he is feeling better. My DH had triple hernia surgery three years ago. Takes time to heal.
ReplyDeleteGive my cousin a hearty "get well soon" from me!
ReplyDeleteSo interesting to draw while you are waiting, must have helped pass the time and give you something to concentrate on. Thanks for sharing a difficult time. Now hope the patient is recovering well and doing as he is told.Take care both of you
ReplyDeleteI hope all is well!
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing how you are able to capture all the different poses and types of people in your art. I also find it interesting that the people seemed disinterested in what you were doing. One day while at a park near a beach, I had an art class, and so many people stopped and were very intrigued to see what we were up to. Our assignment was to do quick gesture drawings, and they were excited to see how we portrayed them. It was a fun exercise and a great way to meet new dynamic people!
What a long day you had. I hope you get some rest. Take care! Thanks for sharing!
Yes, life is good. If waiting is all we have to endure then things are wonderful!!! Really great sketches of everyone from the day, I like the added text...sort of a running commentary of the day. I'm glad things went well and Fred was finally released. Now you can baby him at home while he recovers. LOL
ReplyDeleteGlad your husband is home and in recovery mode!
ReplyDeleteYou used the waiting time good, got distraction and a memory from that day.I hope your husband recovers well. Happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteSpectacular journal pages...such a tough day made better by art...I hope hubby recovers quickly!! No it's not charity when you put his socks on....that's love...lol But good try!! Good that you are sugar detoxed!!

Good use of waiting time, and lovely results as well. Each time I enter your blog and read the heading I find myself thinking : Oh, not again. LOL, I so dislike getting my feet wet.
ReplyDeleteWonderful journal narrative. I hope your husband is fully recovered very soon.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous work, Lynn!
ReplyDeleteThis is quite amazing. A wonderful way to pass the time and to create the day. Wishing you and your husband only the very best.

Your drawings are always great and they look like so much fun to do. I really need to sit at a restaurant and sketch people like you do sometime. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteThese put a BIG smile on my face. They are fabulous. Looks like you did very well entertaining yourself while waiting.
ReplyDeleteI love your style! Your lines are so sketchy and breezy. I always feel like mine are so labored!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed these. What a great way to pass time, control your nerves, and chronicle the day!
Wishing your hubby a speedy recovery... may your energy and patience be preserved and increased as you care for him! These sketches are excellent - they tell such stories! I love the little girl on the i-phone especially- pricelss capture! Oh, and the woman sleeping too:-)
ReplyDeleteWow Lynn! Your drawings do tell the story of the day. Whew! Wishing your husband a speedy recovery and sending you lots of ::strength::in continuing what you do best, being strong and courageous! Excellent drawings and I should be posting to PPP&P soon. Take care and don't stress, it's bad for you.
ReplyDeleteI haven't visited for awhile and was touched to see such a beautiful rendition of your hospital adventures. You captured a treasured memory, even if it doesn't seem so just yet. I wish your husband a quick recovery and you good rest. Thanks for sharing your wonderful work.
ReplyDeleteWonderful sketches, Lynn. You had a marathon and made so many interesting drawings and notes. You have stamina, I get tired on long (regular) visits and don't get through much. Perhaps I should be inspired by you to keep going longer.
ReplyDeleteWhen people talk about love and what it 'is' or 'means' not many people think of days like this where you waited and worried for such a long time. Now that's love!
It sure makes hospital visits more relaxing when you can draw. Do you have people ask to see your sketching or they just smile?
ReplyDeleteDo some have an idea they are your subject when you are directing your eyes toward them or you just glance and your draw quickly as you say you can do..
Wow, that is a long day! So good that you can draw while waiting, I can imagine it eases the stress a little bit. Hope all is well now and that you both have recovered!.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful collection of your time there. Doing something with my hands is always helpful to keep the worry at bay. Glad to hear you are both on the way to recovery.
ReplyDeleteAmazing what you do with your time. Interesting, entertaining and so creative. Blessings (((hugs))) for 'Him' Janet PPF
