My Week drawing Portraits Lynn Cohen

This past week I focused on drawing portraits of my fellow students at Sketchbook Skool from photos they posted for this purpose. I drew each in ink first then colored each using Prismacolor colored pencils. I'm coming to really enjoy using the colored pencils. Something I'm doing for the first time.

The very last portrait was a request from my just turned 24 year old grandson of him sitting and meditating!

I'm wishing all of you a very creative week! Happy Paint Party Friday!
Come visit at Paper, Paint, Pencils & Pens, join us there to draw too! http://lynnnonameblog.blogspot.com

  1. Well done Lynn...you capture their personalities so well. I'm hopeless at portraits so I take my hat off to you {applause for you}.

    1. Thanks Ann, I'm new at this too! Sketchbook Skool is really pushing me to try new things. This assignment came from the students between semesters in the Closed Facebook a Group that's a part of Skool, but separate from the actual classes. We call it "The Playground" and we come up with ideas of what to draw.

  2. Lynn, these portraits are remarkable. Each one with an unmistakable individual personality, yet each one unmistakably yours. And with such humor!

  11. Great portraits, Lynn! Did someone do yours as well? I think your set of pencils is larger than mine or else you know how to blend the colors better than I do (extremely possible!). I like the look of the Prismacolors.
