I missed blogging last week. I guess I just got busy with the new klass in Sketchbook Skool called "Polishing". I haven't even posted any of my homework from that class, although it was great fun. We did comic strips of conversations and of our days.
But as you can see I also was busy drawing my Urban Sketches at the local coffee houses around here.
While the people there posed quietly and seemingly willingly for me. I'm convinced that they are so absorbed in their own lives that they haven't a clue what I am doing with mine.
Take this little kid for instance! He was so into the music pumping into his ears from his headphones and his hand held device that he had no idea I was sitting right behind him drawing his bright red ear pieces and tennis shoes!
I've drawn this couple numerous times before. They always sit at the same table way in the back. Her hair was down today and looked so pretty and smooth!
We went out to lunch in Davis one day. Husband is reading the newspaper while I drew him, as we waited for our orders to be served at our table.
This is a different coffee place I sometimes go to alone when my husband goes to his guitar class. So I know this was a Sunday. They put a little sticker on my bag with my oatmeal in it.
These people were there too. Two at a counter and two at a table in front of me.
And this large group sat right directly in front of me. First it was just the one guy scratching his head. Then the guy next to him showed up and later the other two couples joined them.
I had time to gradually add each person in that way!
This is that woman student who comes OFTEN and STAYS LONG to study. I liked this pose she gave me on this particular day.
I enjoy giving my folks things to talk about like I've done here a few times.
I liked how I captured the gal on the right holding her hair in a tail as she studied with her friend. When she let go it just cascaded down over her shoulder and back.
Another Sunday, where other "regulars" gather and talk. And I get my table in the back and draw them.
These gals are "Regulars" at this place, but were NOT there last week. I missed them. I wonder if they missed me?
And theses gals were new to me. I hope I get to draw them again sometime.
It's been a creative week. I probably have ten more drawings in my second art journal, but this is certainly enough for one blog post.
I wore my "Paint Party Friday" necklace that I won two weeks ago, all week long. I love it. Thanks again for that wonderful prize!
I'm wishing you all a very CREATIVE WEEK! Art is good therapy. It's fun to do and amazing to collect and look back on as it tells the story of my life and the lives of others.
