It's spring-like in California! I sat in my backyard and drew the camellia bush that is in full bloom right now. This was for a Boot kamp assignment in Sketchbook Skool to draw nature! I used colored pencils and ink. Boot kamp is over. Now I await the next semester in April.
I'm still drawing at Tacos Jalisco at least once a week! It was fun to get the patrons (top) and the owners and staff (bottom)! I'll be there again today and will capture who is there!
Another Boot Kamp assignment was to draw water! Not an easy task. And running water is hard in California, as we are in a terrible drought. You can see how guilty I felt letting this Faucet run. Luckily I draw quickly so it wasn't on all that long, honest!
You know I share another blog, Paper, Paint, Pencils & Pens, with Ann Hyde from the UK. There we draw to a new theme every two weeks. This is from the assignment to draw The Place Where We Grew Up. I decided to draw my old neighborhood. I drew my childhood girlfriends houses across the street. The first one was Joann's house!

And this house was where my very, very best friend, Patty, lived. We stayed friends for 73 years.
All my friends from the old neighborhood are gone now. But I have sweet memories from those years together.

I love my days off from work, as we have time to drop in Starbucks to draw. I love capturing as many folks as I can. I got ten on this day!

Sometimes I experiment with new pens & paper. This time it was a white gel pen and a black calligraphy pen on tan paper!
Meanwhile, back to Starbucks on a different day!

And this was the day I captured 18 people at Starbucks in ONE HOUR!
