Okay, it started out fairly usual, going to Starbucks to draw on Saturday Morning.
There she was again, same gal, but this time with a different friend, but I swear she must say:
"You want to go to Starbucks and talk to other people on our phones when we get there?"
Because again neither looked up the whole time I was drawing them, not once!"
Or maybe, just maybe they are playing a game together on the devices?
Your guess is as good as mine!
Sunday gets very different, a change of scene and boy was I happy! We drove to Sacramento to an outdoor flea market, I brought my three legged drawing chair to sit on, light weight, easy to carry on the long strap over my shoulder, along with my back pack that holds art journal and pens.
I boldly set up my chair in a sunny spot directly across from this seller. And sat and drew to my hearts content. A few people stopped to look at what I was doing. I was a lot more exposed than when I am drawing in a cafe or restaurant. But it was okay. I could handle it.
I moved to one more spot to draw a different scene and sellers. But this time the woman came over to see what I was doing, asked if she could SEE. I said, "Okay if you won't get mad at me." She said she told her husband that she bet his hair was my muse! And sure enough it had been! It's what I drew first ... too funny. I later realized when HE came over to look, that it was fake hair on the visor!
He told me I was "very talented"... Well, maybe. But it was nice to hear! ;-)
This gentleman was at the next space over from that first couple. He didn't seem to notice me at all. Just as well. I got the lady in the long fur coat walking down the walk on the left side. Oh, another woman with a clip board who seemed officially associated with the Market came by and looked. She said. "That's cool!" I am not used to getting so much attention when I am drawing, it was a tad daunting!
As the day moved on so did we. Went went back to Davis where DH went to an indoor Music Fair, where the vendors were selling old records, the vinyl kind of yest er year! I sat and drew them and the buyers as well.
We ended our day at de Vere's an Irish pub where DH wanted to hear the live music. We ate a delicious early dinner, mine was grilled salmon over thin noodles in a wine cream sauce with fresh basil and tiny tomatoes. He had fish and chips!
I drew the guy at the bar, two of the three musicians, and a lone woman drinking by herself.
No one noticed that I was drawing!
It was a full and very enjoyable day! A full week too. If you want to see more of it go back to my post on Tuesday where I posted more drawings from earlier in the week. Linking to Paint Party Friday via the icon on my side bar!
