People, People, People Winding Down Our Trip
For the past several days for the few to come we have been and will be visiting people. A different kind of animal than the ones we were seeing previously on our trip. In Idaho we had the joy of visiting with my friend Jeri and her two cats, Slicker and Twinkle. She and I went to the same high school. I knew who she was but we weren't friends then. About 8 years ago she came to California to a little reunion with some former fellow students and we connected and started an email relationship that has been constant, nearly daily, since then. This is the second time DH and I have had the pleasure to stay in her home in Idaho. So we had a restful, pleasant day talking in person, catching up and sharing...before traveling on. We then drove to Seattle, Washington, where we stayed with friends, who were friends of DH when he was in his early 20's. Richard and Celeste live in the hills overlooking Peugeot Sound. A lovely home and wonderful hosts. Their dog Pongo was fun to walk with and play with too. We had an enjoyable two days and nights catching up with them too. Today we are in Portland, Oregon. We have arrived at my son and his fiance's home. We'll stay here with them tonight and tomorrow head out for Southern Oregon, where we will visit two more friends. This has been the most incredible trip. All positive. I have enjoyed so much nature, met so many nice people, felt I made new friends, enjoyed family, and old friends, seen animals and flowers beyond my wildest dreams and visited more quilt stores than I thought possible. It's been fun to share it with you here too. Thank you all for all your wonderful comments. You were great travel companions along the way. We'll end with a visit tomorrow with Cris in Oregon (FROM BLOGLAND) I CAN HARDLY WAIT...and then on to our friend Sam, and a memorial service for Jim, the dear friend who died last month and I posted about. That will be on July 4th. Homeward on the 5th. See you when I get home.
