Finished "Spilling Over" Quilt Wall Hanging and Hail Here!
I found this awesome filigreed silver fabric in my stash and put up against black fleece it made the perfect border for my "Spilling Over" wall hanging! I put a bit of fleece behind the vase too to puff it up a bit and make it stand out more! The whole affair sewn by hand to a fleece backing gives it a very three dimensional look and feel.

I love rainy days! I always get a burst of creativity and love spending the whole day in my studio. It has been a long time since we have seen any rain here. Thanks for your post....I can enjoy the rain long distance.
ReplyDeleteThat really added to this wall hanging piece. wow. Made a nice frame for it. We have had rain off and on today.. Getting sick of rain quite frankly. I want some nice stable dry warm weather for awhile. :))
ReplyDeleteLove your wall hanging, it made me smile. I am ready for warm..rain okay, but warm is so nice.
ReplyDeleteHugs, mary
We had heavy rain and hail here today as well. It was a furlough day at school, so my daughter just hang out together - it was a perfect day.
ReplyDeleteI love your wall hanging, I already admired it when I first saw it on top of your blog.
Beautiful wall hanging! It's been pouring with rain here too and very humid too - tropical almost!
ReplyDeleteLuckily my Friday was a bit dryer.....
ReplyDeleteIn the morning I worked in the garden for the first time since winter. a lot needs to be done. It started to rain (drizzle) at noon , so a good moment to stop. Took a nap and spent some time making art prints.
Your wall hanger looks wonderful different from your other work. Love how you always take new path in your art.
Sometimes rain is ok as long as it doesn't last for days......
Quality time spent with Henry ;)
the wallhanging came out just beautifully. the background is perfect. we had a lot of rain the other day, then a gorgeous warm day though very windy y'day. it is now saturday and i hope to continue work on my well wallhanging and post soon about it.
ReplyDeleteI love your flower vase .... And recognize the necktie yoyo's. That's a tremendous amount of rain if you were able to capture the actual raindrops on camera ..... I like it when it rains like that, unless I'm caught in it!
ReplyDeleteWonderful wall hanging...
ReplyDeleteThankfully, we've not had any rain for a good few days and the sun has been beautiful on my back.
Take care

Thanks for all your postive feedback on my continued work on the "Spilling Over" wall hanging.
ReplyDeleteToday I'll work on a totally different piece of art...changing an old piece into something new.
Stay dry and safe!!! Happy Saturday!
I like the addition of the shiny fabric in the background. It looks great. It makes the flowers & vase really pop.
ReplyDeleteI had a very nice Friday at work. I was busy so it made the day go by fast. Now I am enjoying my Saturday. I hope you are too.
I like the wall hanging alot - it has such texture and depth.
ReplyDeleteWe had a few rainy days here, it was great because it melted the snow...but not completely. Snow still covers my front yard, it's retreating on the back yard like an ancient glacier. and just as slowly!
OMG! LYNNNNN!!!!! THIS WALL HANGING IS GORGEOUS!!!!! my gosh!!! The backing just popped it out and those hanging flowers on the bottom just took it over the top!!! It is just plain wonderful! Congratulations on an excellent peice of work! On a scale of 1-10, I give it a 100!!! (Way good)!!!
ReplyDeleteYou gals are so good to me! I love your effusive response to my framing this piece. Thanks so much. It keeps me going to try more new things and to continue creating.
ReplyDeleteWe had big rains and powerful winds last few days, but today the sun has come out and the sky is more blue than grey again. And I have time to be in my studio!!!!
Happy Sunday.
I love the finished wall hanging! Looks really good.
ReplyDeleteYep, it's been a rainy spring everywhere! Pretty where you are, though.
Lynn, this frame really sets off the piece. A great addition to an already wonderful piece.
