The Long Wait Finally Over...Meet Our New Sweet Miss....

I cannot remember having to wait so long for anything this wonderful before!!!! But after 37 hours of labor, (Mommy really wanted a natural childbirth) and a baby facing down instead of up, who would not come out no matter how hard they tried, they succumbed to a C-section (not an emergency; baby was never in distress) and she was delivered at 11:26 a.m. today (August 14th, 2 days before her actual due date); weighing 6 lbs. 5 oz. She is perfect in every way. She is our fifth grand child. Born to my son, Dan and his beautiful wife, Jackie. Grandma Lynn did not sleep all night wanting to be awake for any calls that might come in...having a hard time understanding what a long labor was considering her two children were born 30 minutes and 17 minutes respectfully after reaching the hospital. I do everything fast. So here she is! We have not been told a name yet. Something else to look forward to. They'll be in the hospital for four days/nights before they can go home.
Welcome sweet girl we love you so much already!

  2. ;-) sweet, Babs...and thanks for your good wishes.

Baby has four sets of grand parents. One lives in the same town. Two sets live in NYC. (her parents/divorced) and us. So locals will get first hugs; Jackies' mom will fly in later this month for a week; her dad after that for a week...I figure they'll need some alone time with the baby themselves so will wait and see how they feel and when they really want more company. Then I will fly up! Probably on my own steam by then. But will wait patiently.

  5. I'm glad that the wait is over and the result is such a cutie pie. 37 hours of labor - oh, that is tough, and then a c-section on top of that. I hope mom has some opportunity to rest after that. Congratulations to the entire family.
