I finally finished up the last page of this two sided art journal.
Remember it was "such a deal" at the thrift store!
$2.99
Okay, it was a deal. it's good paper. But the two sided style was a pain to draw in.
Live and learn.
Finished a good "burrito bowl" lunch yesterday at Tacos Jalisco.
(You can keep up with my new Vegan Diet in the previous post.)
I started drawing the guy in the red and black jacket, and then these three other guys
came in and sat in front of him. I put them a little to the side so "red jacket guy"
could still get his few minutes of fame!
It's a sunny day, but very windy outside!
I like seeing all the green trees out the windows.
You can't hear it but the music was VERY LOUD and I make the mistake
sometimes of sitting right next to the juke box.
I'm not sure if it effects my drawing.
Might make me draw faster than usual. Sort of drawing to a beat!
;-)
Happy Paint Party Friday and Have a fun weekend!
I know I will!
Love it!
ReplyDeleteWhat watercolours do you use?
ReplyDeleteWindsor and Newton and Koi. I have two very small pocket sized boxes of each. They are very portable.I buy a art journal at Michael's that comes with a paint brush attached. All this fits nicely in my backpack. I also use Gouache paints by Daler Rowney that are in large tubes. I pinch out small amounts into a plastic divided container that is twice the size of my small watercolor paint kits. It too can fit in my backpack. But I use these mostly at home.
DeleteThe above painting was done with the Windsor and Newton paints.
Wow.. thats a great finish for the book. Its very detailed and colorful. I think the loud music had a delightful affect on this drawing. :)
ReplyDeleteYour two sided sketchbook sounds complicated....and unusual. Congrats on getting to the end of it though, that shows dedication :)
ReplyDeleteAnother fab page Lynn, hugs Annette x

I love seeing your colorful illustrations Lynn, and I think you must experiment about the music and drawing thing :) Happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great drawing, enhanced by a musical beat. I love the red shirt guy. Can't wait to see the next journal.
ReplyDeleteNice drawing. Ah the end of a journal is such a completion. On to the next one, right.
ReplyDeleteI love the guy in the red and black jacket - talking behind his hand. I wonder who he's talking to? That's the beauty of your paintings - you don't know the whole story so you get to complete it yourself. HPPF
ReplyDeleteGreat page, Lynn. I always get a kick out of seeing your fellow diners.
ReplyDeletelove the new painting!
ReplyDeleteI love this drawing Lynn. Drawing to the beat - sounds like fun.
ReplyDeleteI love your description of Tacos Jalisco today, because it gave me a strong sense of what it's like to sit and sketch there. The unexpected addition of people to a scene, the rhythm of sounds, etcetera most definitely could affect your work. ¡Blessings, my amiga!
ReplyDeleteGreat illustration as always. Good luck with the new vegan diet.
ReplyDeleteHappy PPF!

Another book finished, and filled with such memories and pictures. I would love a taco right now. I have been so absent lately, thank you for coming by. Learning something new is great, but it takes so much time. I am sure Arney is wondering if he will see my face again, mostly he is seeing the top of my head. Thank you for coming to see me sweet friend, Hugs, mary
ReplyDeleteI find it difficult to draw too with the journal side, as well. Double has to be even harder I guess. But the page is fun, colorful :oD
ReplyDeleteHappy PPF
