People And My Peeps from Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday!

Tuesday, people lined up at the Bakery to place their orders. Lots of women and one guy made it into

my drawing book. The gray haired woman in blue vest and pants came over from the thrift store. She's wearing her name tag. I'd come from there looking around.

The guy in the lower right corner was not feeling so well. The two

young women with him (not pictured) each felt his forehead at one point.

He covered his mouth with his hand when he coughed and used a handkerchief to blow his nose.

As I was sitting at the table right next to him

I prayed his germs would not cross the imaginary boundary I was mentally setting up between us.

I spent two evenings using colored pencils to color this drawing done in ink.

Colored pencils take much longer than watercolors,

but I found it quite relaxing.

On Wednesday I was anxious to get back to Taco Jalisco's. My usual days were off, as lately I've been there on Tuesdays and Thursdays. But because I worked on Monday it threw me off my routine this week.

I was excited to find Mr. Amplett (lower left) there with his working buddy Mike, as I had not seen them there in a very long time. I went up to them to ask if they had given up lunch! He assured me they were still coming there often. I guess we had been coming on alternate days.

Mr. Amplett and Mike are the guys who run Ampletts Floors and from whom I bought our floors (hardwood-like and tile) last year. So I started drawing Mr. A. right away, but very soon two other guys came in and sat at a table in front of theirs obscuring Mike from my view. Darn!

Then came the other Mike and his wife Debbie, The Couple, I draw frequently there. They have become more and more friendly with me. But I still don't think they have a clue that I am drawing them.

I don't know the lady in Pink. She came in with two other women and sat in front of me.

So I just added her to the mix here.

Senora Jalisco came to see what I was drawing; and while there I showed her the originals of the portraits I'd done of her and her family. She seemed really happy about them. She recognized her daughter in one that I had not thought I'd captured at all. But she knew who it was.

Nice!

It made MY day!

On THURSDAY I stopped in at the bakery for a cream cheese bagel and an iced decaf

latte. It was hot out. I had some time to kill before I had to be back at work.

The first thing I spotted to draw was that HAT, and yes, it WAS THAT BIG!!!!

What's the name of the guy in the kids book Curious George?

Doesn't he remind you of him?

Did me!

 What I don't understand is how people can talk on the phone as they are there with someone else!
Really obvious to me that the guy she is with is staring out the window wondering when she is going to get off the darn phone and pay attention to him!

Again, I come home in the evening after work, and on these warm days I go out to the back patio table with my watercolors and paint the picture I drew that day! I think about the people in my scene and wonder about their conversations, their lives, habits and hats!
