Lynn's Art Journal's First Pages

Finally you can see my Travel Art Journal from it's first pages... from when we left California (above) where we drove 725 miles through Nevada, and Utah...

To our first Motel Six...into Delta Utah...where DH did his first fossil hunt for trilobites and got a box full!
And then Day Three where we drove through Provo, and Huber City (where we had some good Mexican food...then we headed to Kemmerer, Wyoming for his second dig. Where he split limestone rock and I drew him doing it. The trees were changing color, the weather was perfect, and I was happy because I got to draw and paint to my hearts content.
There was really no where to sit so drew and painted these next two pictures standing up!

I again state that I loved seeing the trees changing color...as they did behind this rock pile.
On the fourth day out we arrived in Rawlings, Wyoming and we walked around Independence Rock. I sat on a bench to draw it and tired to capture the long walk AROUND it by continuing my drawing onto two pages.

I paint the drawings while DH is driving  the car.
And I am using this art journal that came with a nice paint brush. I call these my "Grown Up" paints. It's a set of Newtons that I found in my husband's office pristine new never used and "stole" them for my use (with permission of course!)
I am proud to report that I am experimenting with mixing colors (brown and blue make gray!) and having fun doing so!

One more from the fossil dig. The dog's name was Abby. That's a trilobite on the far right.

I will link these to Paint Party Friday. But again, I will do my best to visit other's blogs, but cannot promise full coverage unless we are on a very long drive between places and have cell reception, which is not always the case (on my ipad)...These were uploaded on my cousin's computer in Denver last week.
