Getting Ready For Art Show in January in Davis, CA

I will be the only artist featured at "The French Cuff", a very cute consignment shop in Davis, CA next month. The reception is from 5 to 9 pm. on January 11th.  I will be there to host my art and promote my book "One Fish Taco and Half an Order of Guacamole One Year of Drawing Over Lunch at Tacos Jalisco".

Not sure how much art I can get on their walls but I spent part of the weekend framing pictures (12) and putting dowels into hanging sleeves on the backs of small art quilts.

I'm excited looking forward to being in another Art About Show in Davis! I hope you can come.
The art will be hanging there until February 8th, 2013.

These are the postcards I made yesterday and will mail out today!

  5. Here's a question for you! Could you ever have imagined, you Lynn Cohen would be doing an art show..... All those nights alone quilting or days drawing...did you ever imagine this would be so big? So cool....so exciting. If you were in my city I would attend. I hope you have an amazing time and soak in the glory of all your hard work!! Plus I hope this leads to more shows!!

    1. Thanks Giggles. I would have felt this way in 2007 when I just started making art quilts, but since embarking on this path I have put my art out there numerous times in group shows, single shows, fairs, where ever someone would hang it. This will be the first time I am hanging more than just one painting at a time. I've framed 12 of them!! And I will be hanging a bunch of art quilts too. I plan to plaster their walls with my art!!! Now I know it's real.
Before, I would have had no clue. But then we only learn we can do by doing! Right? So I tell everyone, DO IT! Put yourself out there. There will be some who like it and some who like it a lot! Some might even buy it. If you can bear to part with it yourself! ;-)
