I start my week of drawing at Tacos Jalisco with this family group. I hadn't noticed until I cropped my painting that the mom and baby seem to have a skin disorder. When really in real life it was just rosy cheeks!
Last Friday I flew from Sacramento, CA to Portland, OR to visit my son, his wife and my three grandchildren there. You can read more about that HERE and see drawings I did of my grandson! You'll see a lot of photos of my very, very cute grand baby Allie, who BTW started drawing while I was there!
These ladies sat directly across from me at the airport in Sacto, but were so absorbed in their tech gadgets they had not a clue that I was drawing them!
It was very cold in Portland, as you can see how the people were dressed at that airport on the way back home. Even though we had sunny days, the cold made everyone wear black and gray!
Okay, not everyone wore black or gray, some people saw the sun and were more brightly adorned:
Meanwhile, back at the ranch ... I dined at Tacos Jalisco again yesterday, and drew these three guys sitting at the counter just across from my table. I was so close to them so they came out quite large!
And as I do, when I got home I painted my picture! I like it in black and white too.
I want to thank everyone who has purchased a copy of my book; yesterday someone even bought two copies! Wow! I have no idea who that was, but I hope both people who get one like it.
If you are still thinking about it, there is a coupon on Blurb you can add to the purchasing page, just use the CODE word: MYBOOKLOVE
and they will reduce the price of the book by 20%.
This deal is good until Feb. 14, 2013.
You can order the book via the link on my sidebar which takes you to the Blurbbookstore.

This is a spread from inside the book. I am taking Cecilia her copy today at Tacos Jalisco!
Be sure to visit the other artists at Paint Party Friday via the link on my side bar. Lots of great art can be seen there every week.
Thanks for visiting me and come back often. I love hearing from you all!

Lynn, Some watercolors have more chalk in them and so they do this when you scan the pix. Or if you mix watercolors with acrylics or maybe even Goush paint. All paintings and drawings are wonderful as usual or even more so I think..I like the B&W but the color gives depth to the subjects. HPPF early. :)

ReplyDeleteHi Lynn, I enjoyed this post of your travel companions and their tech toys! Also enjoyed seeing your handsome and talented family in Oregon. That is interesting, to switch from black and white to color and how the "feeling" changes from cloudy to sunny! I love the lady with her arms crossed (in gray) at the airport!
