Last Sunday we got in the car to drive to San Francisco, an hours drive from where we live.
We stopped for gas and while DH got out to pump the gas into the car, I drew the dog in the back of the car in front of us. He was nice enough to sit still for this pose!
My dear husband is a singer with a great voice and he serenades me on our journeys.
Oh, he also stopped at Barnes and Nobles for a quick cup of coffee for the rest of the trip.
I stayed in the car and drew the sign on the building.
Unbeknownst to me this was a surprise trip to a quilt show in the City. If you'd like to see photos from it and what we saw there go back a post earlier in the week! Wow, it was fantastic and I was so appreciative of my husband following the What's Happening News in the papers! And then surprising me with a trip to the show.
But back to last Sunday, we always go down to Hyde Street Pier to see the tall ships. I happen to be enamoured with this tug boat called Hercules! It is BRIGHT ORANGE and so shiny! The day was bright sunshine and WARM. A most beautiful day for visiting San Francisco!
There was another woman on the pier writing and sketching in her journal too. Fun to see.
From there we stopped at a Russian owned deli we like and had delicious sandwiches on fresh sour dough bread! Then went over to Fort Mason to the Friends of the library bookstore. Bought some books.
And then drove down to the marina, the warming hut by the Golden Gate Bridge, where I had time to take some photos of pelicans on the pier and draw the bridge!
I also got a pair of earrings made from recycled blue glass. Really pretty!
The pelicans sat on the pier and posed for all the photographers there, including moi!
It was fun drawing a spread across two pages in my art journal.
I will link this post up with Paint Party Friday. You can visit it and other artists works via the link on my side bar.
Wow.. some great Art came out of this fun trip. What a great journal right here with your drawings and words. It would be fun to see more Artists out sketching. I hope that becomes more the norm soon. Fun trip we went on with you. HPPF early. :)
