A Week Of Worry and Concern ... and life Going On

Last Thursday I walked downtown and ate lunch outside at the Pure Grain Bakery. I'd been worried all week about my VBFF Patty, who was then in the hospital ICU (read more about this friendship and ordeal in the post before this one). But I had to work and I had to eat and I had to draw so I finished the last page of this 40 page art journal on this day!

For the past week, and every day since Patty got sick (dx with lung cancer), and later hospitalized, I drew on the computer using "Paint" or on my iPad using the "noteshelf" app, and would then write on the lower part of the pages and send them to her so she'd know I was thinking of her morning and night.

These are some of those little drawings without the personal notes.

It's fun to draw with the mouse or a stylus ...

Today we are at least smiling, as Patty is being released from the hospital. The doctors were amazed
at her quick recovery from almost dying to being able to go home to recuperate. I get daily updates from her sweet loving husband, and he was going home last night to build her a special platform stair
to get up and down from their rather high bed. Then he was returning to the hospital today to learn how to give her some needed injections at home. He's got to be worn to a frazzle after his past six days at her bedside there.

Thanks to all of you who have been sending prayers and positive thoughts her way. We do believe they are helping and if you could just keep them coming it would be greatly appreciated.

I'll link up to Sunday Sketchers today! Follow the other artists there from the link on my sidebar!

Have a good week!
