My Week in Art Lynn Cohen

Sometimes after I've done a lot of sketches at once I like to unwind with a zentangle. I do not profess to be the worlds best zentangle artist or even a very good one, but the act of drawing this sort of doodle is very, very relaxing for me and so I do it.

I drew at the Irish Music Jam in Benicia, CA last Sunday.
Here are a few of my favorites. And you can see the rest of them at my other blog:
Paper, Paint, Pencils & Pens. We keep getting new artists there, our list is growing and the contributions are terrific. Worth looking at. And if you want to draw with us just leave me your email address here or there and I'll send you an invite so you can play/post/with us too.

These were all done quickly each one during one musical number being played!

This one got some words to two songs added to it.

This is a cup given to me by my dear friend, Patty. It says "EMA" or Mother in Hebrew. It's a cup full of memories ...............................

Have a creative week. Thanks for your stop by and comments, they do mean the world to me!
Happy Paint Party Friday (tomorrow) and Enjoy Sunday Sketchers (on Sunday) both visit-able via the icons on my sidebar.

    1. That's nice to hear Suki, thank you. No! I did not show them to the musicians. People never think I draw them favorably or in their likeness. Yes, I have many Patty gifts around my home and person! But I sure miss HER.

  5. I love the zentangle. I think you really captured the musicians' poses - I can almost hear them playing, they're so realistic! Inspired by you I tried sketching at the school where I teach but after a couple of minutes I got called to go play with the people I was sketching, so that didn't turn out so well! ;) I am shy about sketching people when they can see me doing it. Anyway…the lady in the green shirt looks like she's playing a VIOLA!

  6. Oh Margaret, I do hope you'll continue drawing the musicians around you! Is it the viola that you play? Thank you for this wonderful comment!

  12. Your zentangle is lovely - the best thing about them is that they come right from the soul and do not need to pass through the inner critic!!! I find them relaxing too -
