On Friday I went to the Chateau Montelena Winery on Tubbs Lane in Calistoga where they have their tasting room in this awesome old castle. I fell in love with these spires and had to stand on stairs to see it to paint. (We were supposed to only position ourselves down below by the parking lot, which was a lovely spot of lake, swan, bridges, pagodas, and vineyards...but I wanted to paint the castle!!! So I snuck up there and did this. Just the spires in the middle and one window. I called it "Rapunzel"
These will be hanging for sale at the art show tomorrow. I have to go back to pick them up after the show. It will be fun to see what all the other artists did. They were all so good; and I started to feel very intimidated the first day seeing what they were doing...but then kept hearing all your words of support and decided someone had to be a beginner in this group and I was fine that that is me!
