Welcome to my week! I draw myself through it.
I make up lives for the people I draw.
I hope they don't mind.
They will probably never be the wiser.
These two women were at opposite ends of the room, but I wanted them both on one page so
they are dueling for table space!
And these two were sitting above them along a wall of individual tables. Doing their own thing(s).
I wonder if you recognize these two. They are there every week we are there. We all go there on Thursdays. I haven't figured out what they are doing yet. They talk a lot discussing something, then they both get on their own computers and write away!
Now I'm back at the other coffee house. The woman on the far right is a regular of theirs and mine.
The other person was new to me. She was very intent on what she was doing. The drink was not really inside that long box, but in my drawing it climbed in all by itself.
These women were all waiting in line to order. Three were on their iPhones; and one was looking at he stuff they have for sale there.
There were so many people sitting around on Saturday! I just eyeballed them as I drew them one by one until I had them all (almost).
Another day another mood. I liked the pink lady curled up with her feet underneath her, and the tall woman in the long skirt and jacket reading the newspaper. The pink woman was talking to the woman in the plaid shirt, but I had to draw it otherwise.
There were a lot of people there again, and I enjoyed drawing three generations of this family.
Again, folks standing in line to get drinks and ogle the goodies for sale.
On Easter Sunday I expected to see people all dressed up. One young woman had on a summer dress. She is sitting on the lap of her friend. They all were happily engaged in conversation.
The next day was Monday and this gal seemed to have a frown on her face as he read the local newspaper. The news is often dreary.
The gal on the left was very, very sad. At one point she was crying.
I wanted to get up and go give her a hug.
But she was with someone, so I hoped he'd take care of it.
The other two fellows were deep in conversation.
Another day, and more conversations: In case you find this hard to read the gal on the left is saying: "Trust me, I was married to him for five years. He's not good for you!" And the gal on the right is thinking: "But I love him!" It will come to no good, I just feel it in my bones. (that was me talking)
Today the huge group of workers gathered at the long table where we normally sit for their business meeting. They talked for quite a while. Long enough for me to draw them all,
and then they got up and returned to work. I colored them from memory after they left.
It wasn't too hard as they mostly wear black.
Now we back to Every Day in March
where we draw to a different prompt daily.
I will put the prompt under each drawing.
"Soft"
I drew our cat Henry!
"A Classic Movie"
I chose "Singin' in the Rain"
"Zodiac"
In the late 1960's a serial killer was busy killing people very near to where I lived at the time.
They called him the Zodiac Killer. I forget why.
But this was taken from a wanted poster at the time.
"Stormy"
I thought of the song by Billie Holiday, "Stormy Weather" and drew Billie.
"Life"
This one is self evident.
"Bundled"
This is what I look like when I am in snow country.
Which thank goodness is not very often.
"Renaissance"
My husband asked me out and he took me to the Renaissance Faire for our first date
on September 17, 1978.
It was a fun date. We saw people in costume there, but we were not. He did however, have a long bushy, red beard at the time. We never stopped dating after that day 38 years ago this year!
A while back I drew this Selfie and I offered it up for coloring to my fellow klassmates in Sketchbook Skool because it looked like a page out of a coloring book in black and white.
One of the people who took me up on my offer sent me what she did and here it is. She is Jane W. and I like her colors in my hair very much!
