I loved Lynn's book. It is full of wonderful drawings and a story to match. I loved meeting all the customers from Jalisco's and how Lynn depicted them. I loved the owners and the "Couple" and the purple haired lady. She is very encouraging to other would be drawers too. A delightful book. It make me want to try drawing people in my own sketchbook.

My Week From My Art Journal
On Sunday I walked up the street to the park. I thought I'd try my hand at drawing kids at play knowing full well that none of them would sit still long enough for me to capture them well. Like the one that slid through the tube down the slide, hit bottom and got up running! Therefore, empty tube!
But the one swinging was fairly captive!
A little four year old boy came round the bench I was sitting on and watched me draw this. He looked at the drawing then up at me, then back to the drawing and up at me. He didn't say a word, but I felt very complimented by his little looks.
The boy stood balancing on the teeter totter for about a minute and a half, and the girl stood on the rock for about as long or less; the grandma and girl on the swings swung longer! I was going to tell you I drew for once with out the aid of food; however, there was a girl and her mom who were generously giving out Girl Scout cookies and I accepted one! Nummy!
That same young girl told me she thought my drawing was "quite beautiful". Sweet to get compliments from children about my drawings.
And then on Tuesday I was back at Tacos Jalisco, where I drew these two gals sitting in front of the window from across the room.
Carlos was working and he joined me for lunch with his shrimp soup (cold) and some drawing paper. We caught up on our lives together. It had been a while.
Always sweet.
