Another busy week making art! Today we went to the Barnes & Noble Cafe! I was immediately drawn to draw and color this young woman's pink and blue hair!
I'm continuing playing with Juliana Cole's mixed media and Vin G's portraits from Polishing klass in Sketchbook Skool now ended!
I'm getting my models from the sktchy app on my iPhone and iPad! It's fun when they realize they've been drawn and let me know they like it!
Last weekend we went to Grandkids school for Grandparents Day! Always enjoyable! Was sitting outside my grand daughter 's art class room and drew her and two friends! Later back at the house I added to my initial sketch!
I drew the kids the next morning on their devices! Still in their PJ's!
Then Yael and I created side by side! I taught her the new mixed process I am just getting into! This one is mine ...
And this one is hers!
She is really a very good artist. She's been making art since she could hold a crayon! I love watching her process. She's 11 years young.
Later in the week I was back at Starbucks to draw!
I felt sorry for this elderly woman. Even though she was surrounded by grown kids and grand's it was obvious she felt out of it.
And I was busy with Sketchy portraits!
I'm really enjoying working in my Ledger book I found at Goodwill for 99 cents! The pages are thick enough for all my markers, with no bleed through to the next page. Only Winsor & Newton brush pens bleed to the back of the page. But not to the next page.
I'm loving embellishing them!
Two to a page is fun too!
I'd given Yael a Magna drawing book and I think she turned out ten or more of these one after the other! She's as fast as her grandma. This is copying and she said taking parts from different examples to make one figure all her own. She even took it with her when we went out to dinner and continued drawing at the dining table while we waited for our food.
First I drew these people at Starbucks ... and then ...
... embellishing later at home!
And more today at Barnes & Noble Café in a Pentalic Travelers Art Journal:
(his words, not mine)
And today again! Top done there and bottom finished at home!
I think these look a little blurry because I transferred them from my iPhone to the computer. Sorry about that.
I'm pooped from so much art making, but I know I'll be amped to get back to it tomorrow!
I'm wishing you a creative week!
I learned today that a therapist neighbor in my office building is an artist too! She agreed to join me for a drawing lunch at Tacos Jalisco! Nice to discover a drawing buddy so close to home!
Happy Paint Party Friday.
