Black and White Quilt Wall Hanging Done

This Quilt took five days to make and was finished on the sixth day...On the seventh she rested!
It took thirty hours starting with the shopping and picking out of fabrics to the last stitches, not including washing and drying her.

Here you see her back and front. I almost can see this as a reversible quilt as the back is attractive to in my eye.

  1. ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS. WOW.
They are going to love this for sure. Do you get to see their faces when you give it to them?
    Well done Lynn.
    What's next?

  2. Oh, I agree about the back. The quilt certainly is reversible, as the back is a charming quilt in its own right.

  3. Lynn, it is absolutely fabulous, yesss!!! The way you did the stitching on the white is just what it needed! And the back of it is great too. It is a nice "graphic" piece of work you've done there! What a gift. Have a great day, thinking about everythin you already achieved and what's next:)

  6. The quilt is just beautiful. Unusual. Modern in it's feel i think with the Black and White theme. I love the last photo of quilt in the window so we can see the front through the back. I say take a rest and really acknowledge these two quilts you have made so quickly and beautifully. Give them some space and time to settle in. Pausing. You have achieved a lot in a little time.

  11. Really nice and I love the back! Clever.
How did you do the "rose" quilt to get the frayed look? I saw some interesting frayed items on a quilt recently and am interested to see how you did your's and what the frayed bits look like close up?

  12. Mim...frayed is easy. You merely sew withing a quarter of an inch of the edge of the fabric leaving the edge unsewn. Then when you put it in the dryer after washing it in the machine it becomes frayed, giving it an old worn look.

I will take another photo close up of one "rose" to show you a closer view per your request.
