My First Collage!

Anyone else getting 1960's deja vu feelings looking at this? Might be from the couple of aging hippies in the center...

Tonight was night two of my collage class. I added acrylic paints using just three primary colors, red, blue, yellow mixed with a paint scraper on a piece of paper to make other colors...later added some white to the mix...then dried it with a hair dryer and added a gloss to the whole thing. Decided to make it a gift to my MIL for Christmas...she'll love it. She's the Erika/ma mentioned up there. the photos of flowers are all from my garden, as is the wheel barrel with plants. The pansies are from a Kleenex box. You will most likely recognize the passion flower and the dragon flies from earlier photos I have shared here.

It really looks best from a distance...so stand up, back up and look again! ;-)

  4. Thanks! Yes, I had fun doing it finally. Actually when I started last night with the paints I was very stiff, stilted, weary, worried, tense! I had not done this before and I felt like I had no idea what I was doing. But as I got on with it, and with the teachers encouragement (when I thought I was done she said do more)...and when I did more there WAS more and it was good! ;-)
It got better when I stepped away from it at her suggestion and saw it from a distance. Wow. What a difference that was. I really liked it then.
I will sign up for more of her classes next month.
And yes, I did date and sign it.
    Erika will love it!
