Big Draw #20 ... Sunday Knitting
I spent yesterday nursing a toothache, and knitting. I found this regularly $7.88 a skein ribbon yarn on sale for $1.49 a skein so got enough to make this little poncho for my 4 yr old grand daughter. She loves pink and I think she will love this soft nicely textured piece. I learned a new drop stitch, which wasn't as hard as I thought it would be and is fun to do. I skipped drawing yesterday...so here is a quickie done this morning while waiting for the dentist office to open and hopefully call and get an appointment.
If I have enough yarn left over I'll make my daughter, her mom, a matching scarf. This drop stitch looks really good on scarves! ;-)

Oh I could do that stitch. I do that all the time. :))
ReplyDeleteSeriously that is darling. Love the colors and the drawing is excellent!! Very good.
Sorry about the toothache. Hope it gets better soon!
OH I FORGOT.. I LOVE YOUR NEW HEADER PIX!!!
ReplyDeleteYou must have the best dressed granddaughter in the land! Cute sketch.
ReplyDeletegreat yarn, ouch hope it's soon better.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty poncho and great sketch of it. Isn't it great when we can find such a good bargain on something?!
ReplyDeleteit's very lovely... the colors make a very lively combination to gether...
ReplyDeleteI'm just starting knitting again, for a number of reasons. Firstly I always liked it and secondly, it's a bit more social than drawing and I can sit with the DH and knit while he cooks or watchs TV. But my skills are limited so I've signed up for 5 weeks of a knitting class! We'll see how it goes.
ReplyDeleteI've always liked this type of yarn/ribbon Is it tough to work with?
Mim, bravo for taking the knitting class. Yes, I too find I can be morre social when I sit with my DH in front of the TV and knit.
ReplyDeleteThis ribbon yarn is soft and is a breeze to work with. Nothing difficult about it at all. I finished half the poncho last night and am about a quarter done with side two. It's going quickly.
Lynn, I think your granddaughter will love the poncho, it looks beautiful. I can't believe how productive you have been (along with Suki) with these past Big Draw days ... I'm amazed by how you sustain the energy to keep creating. (BTW, your artsy days with your grandkids look so fun).
