And then came this morning and what I was greeted with as I set foot out our front door on my way to work. Obviously, Henry V, who was asleep upstairs in the dirty laundry basket, had quite the night on the town last night. And these were the treasures or gifts he left us.
Yuck. I hope none of you are looking at this as you eat your evening or morning meal.

I could not get this image out of my mind all day long. It is drawn from memory, as the remains I put into the garbage before driving off.
Oh my why is it one can remember something like a dead rat & feathers to draw out of ones head and not something pretty. Good drawing of it. :))
ReplyDeleteI had a cat years ago that would bring me all sorts of unwanted gifts too. When he brought me a dead hummingbird he stalked he became an indoor cat. Poor bird. :(

That looks like a lot of material but it goes fast when you are making quilts.

ReplyDeleteMim, "Jelly Rolling" is how the fabrics in the top box are rolled up. This helps make room for lots of fabrics and gives me the ability to see what colors are there.
ReplyDeleteMIL: has been moved to a new room/ area where she will get more care...her dementia is worsening...SIL said doc still says 6 months to live...she's a fiesty old gal so I wouldn't be at all surprised if it's longer than that. I spoke with her on the phone last weekend and she sounded good. She knew who I was, talked to me about the little quiltlet I'd sent, naming all the people in the photos on it...she was upbeat, but her voice sounded weaker to me.

Suki, I got the idea of just a little color with the ink drawing from Mim's art work, which I admire greatly. I'll try to appreciate Henry feeding himself to save money. He was really miffed when he went out in the morning and his finds were gone. He sniffed all around looking for them.
That 'jelly roll' idea is fabulous! I have some fabric here in AZ and that is a great way to store it. I had 'tons' but donated it to my quilty daughter because art took over my life. Although I am still making a scrappy quilt and hand quilting.

oh oups, yes, cats.... OH MY ...poor little micy.... Oscar doesn't catch them, he just looks at them. Has never learned it, and I'm glad about it when we take him to my parents where he can go into the garden...

ReplyDeleteI hope he does not continue to deposit his animal finds so close to home!!! Once he brought a live mouse into the house and delighted in chasing it and I had to let him catch it then shooed them both outside.Of course the mouse did not get away that time...but better than being killed in my family room!
Andrea, I explained Jelly Rolling in the above comment to Mim. It's just rolling the fabric like a rolled up newspaper and stuffing them into the crate one on top of the other.
