Art Quilt Bag

Art Every day...done over several days...drawing done while watching Barak Obama become the first African American President of the United States of America. close up of front of quilted bag...made from recycled fancy dresses and blouses...satin linings...the strap is cut from the hem of a satin dress skirt...top sewn with fancy stitches from my sewing machine... looking inside the bag...lined and sandwiched with batting to give it girth... the back of the bag all satin shiny...with added dress labels on the strap... And finally the front of the bag...sparkly slinky fabrics, satin fabrics...light light green, with gold threads hanging down onto navy with silver dots, black silky lining, silver slinky fabric with sparkles,...all come together nicely to make a feel good bag; roomy, wearable art! finished size: 11" tall by 10 1/4 -10 1/2" wide (the width varies)

  5. Came back to see this purse again. It is a fantastic purse. Did you do the drawing first and then make it or did you draw it afterwards? You are on to something I think. You are a lean mean designing machine. :))

  6. Thanks Cris, I drew this after the fact. I create by just grabbing pieces of fabric and laying them out and seeing what looks good together...not with a pattern to follow.

  8. Mim thanks. No, I thought I'd try to sell it. I'm thinking $45 as my first one sold for $25 and this one has ten times the work and time put into it. What do you think?

  9. I think it's so hard to price things like this. I see baby quilts for $125, and I sell mine to friends for $75. Why? I just don't know, and think it's maybe insecurity. But if I was putting my quilt in a shop I'd ask for the full price. So check some equivalent items and price accordingly.
