Last July I saw these words posted on Ladybug's blog, Living in The Light I find http://thelightifind.blogspot.com/, :....to boost my spirits and remind myself of all the many gifts I have in this world I want to follow in the steps of my dear friend Sister Kathryn and give gifts in honor of my birthday...Anyone who would like a little fabric gift-card holder just let me know and I'll send one to you! (if you have a theme or an idea of what you would like to be on it, let me know and I'll see if I have some fabric that might work)...." and I not at all shy of asking signed up to receive a gift!
Well truth be told I completely forgot about it. And yesterday in the mail I received this beautiful gift. I cannot tell you how surprised and thrilled I was/am to be the very very proud owner of a quilted, appliqued wall hanging by Ms. Lady Bug! It is so exquisitely done, each detail flawlessly stitched, truly Ms. Lady Bug I could not do a satin stitch as fine as yours to save my life! And the top stitching and binding, not to mention the use of glittery threads and tiny beads, well it all comes together to make a piece fit for a Queen! And that is how I feel looking at this beautiful gift of morning glories.
I just happen to be a gardener who planted morning glories in my front yard several years ago and they drop their seeds and return year after year after year. So my front yard is in abundance right now of purple morning glories just like the ones on this awesome art piece! How perfect is that?
Thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart! What an incrediable gift! I feel so blessed today! It will have a place of honor among the other art I have from my friends in blogland in my bedroom where I will see it before I go to sleep each night and first thing when I awake in the morning. You will be in my dreams!
I wish my camera could do the threads more justice. The center threads on these flowers with tiny beads are glittery and pick up the light so well. They sparkle!
from the bottom of my heart!

ReplyDeleteWow. I hope you are stopping to enjoy the moments while they happen.
The quilt surprise is soooo beautiful. How fun that you signed up and forgot and thus the surprise. The meme answers were, some of them, so funny.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it the most amazing gift? I am so lucky!
ReplyDeleteYes, rowena, I absolutely enjoy most all the moments of my life. And I am very aware of all!!!
Suki, I wonder which ones made you laugh? I am laughing too!
OMGOSH THAT IS SO PRETTY. I LOVE IT. She did an amazing job too. I am sure it is even better in person as the camera just doesnt capture all those sparklies.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely thing she did.
laughing at those memes too. not easy to answer questions with one word. :O
How beautiful! Lucky you.
ReplyDeleteOh, Lynn, the gift is so gorgeous, the detailing on it so intricate! And gorgeous, too, is the image that I got when I read about your front lawn of morning glories. I could just see them in my mind's eye, so beautiful. When I was little, living in the city with no access to a garden, morning glories were the first plants I attempted to grow from seed - it didn't work but their beauty always triggers such memories for me.
ReplyDeleteLove the meme, too. I'm going to do it right now!
Lynn,
ReplyDeleteI'm honored (and quite humbled) by your praise. I'm so thrilled that you love your gift and that the morning glories speak to you as well! ;)
It is only right that you should be gifted something you enjoy however, as every day I read your blog you're making something beautiful for someone, and that I Know will bring them joy.
And I loved your meme was really fun...I might have to try that one out too!
Keep on stitching!
Dear Lady Bug, again Thank YOU!
ReplyDeleteThis master piece of art hangs in my bedroom now and I love love love looking at it.
