Friday Plein Air Painting in Town Square

Such a sunny day today could not contain me indoors. So out I went to the down town area and sat in our town square surrounded by my drawing pad, pen, paints and water. And draw and paint I did.
Imagine me wearing my bigger than life sun hat, sitting on a black rod iron bench, surrounded by all my equipment and just drawing and painting to hearts content! A beautiful day!

Then I returned home and read a book in my hammock in the shade of our back yard.  A perfect Friday if you ask me. How did you spend yours? Wishing everyone a happy weekend too.

  10. Enormously beautiful, Lynn. I do so love your style and if I had the talent that would be my choice of style to do. If you ever get back to my blog, please let me know the process. Do you lay down paint first and then do the sketches, or do you sketch and then fill in with watercolors? Thanks for removing that dratted word verification. They don't make things easy to change in blogland. I found that out by trying to change my email address for blogger. An impossibility. Or maybe I just haven't found the right button to push.

Me, I worked yesterday and got some bad news, so not so wonderful, but today I get to hike and paint, now that is more like it :-).

  17. I am so proud of you!!! You have come so far since I first started reading your blog, probably over a year ago, maybe more. To just sit out in the sun, sketching and painting in front of the whole world, my oh my! I was just showing my husband how you sketch all the time and don't have any fear...I do want to rise to that someday. I'm way too concerned with detail and have such a hard time being free and loose, but I'm practicing!

    1. Patty, just give it a try. I did have to do breathing exercises to calm myself at first. But if you just let yourself enter the "zone" you won't even know other people are out there. Practice, practice, practice...really works for me.

  19. Lovely Friday art. It was cold and so windy here, you would have needed rocks in your pocket just to sit, much less paint. Winds were 50 mph plus at times. My wind chimes were really rocking. Glad you had the perfect day.
