This photo of the art quilt appears much sharper when you click on it and enlarge it!
This is my latest art creation and for now I am calling it: "!"
Size: 26" height X 34" width
This is two three day weekends of mono print painting, cutting, sandwiching, sewing around each piece, top sewing each piece, then painstakingly sewing each to the other to get this wall hanging. I'd guess I put in approximately 65 hours into this baby.
I wish the photo were sharper. I will keep trying in different lights,
but wanted to show you the end result of all that work/play! [Of which I enjoyed every single minute.]
In person it is full of texture, bright color and sparkle!
I absolutely adore this piece. It looks like a summer garden in full bloom. Happy Cactus Monday.

Thanks, I'm glad you like this art quilt. I am not a genius, I got the idea from Alford in Quilting Arts Magazine (Aug)for the mono printing and quilt making. However, as she said each artists' piece will be different as they/we/I do bring our own styles to the table.
ReplyDeleteBut isn't it neat?! LOL
Lynn, I LOVE IT!!! I'm glad you have a larger file for your picture. There are so many different aspects of this quilt to explore. You are so inspiring!

Let's see, 65 hours at roughly $20 an hour makes this wall hanging around $1300.00 not counting materials, and worth every penny, I'd say! This is just beautiful, Lynn. Very creative and full of imagination. I love it!
