More Journal Pages on Bloomin' Tuesday

I got this pad of marble construction paper at the thrift store for twenty five cents. I sat in the evening while watching TV and tore paper and glued it onto an unpainted journal page. I filled in the background with marking pen (green and red dots). This page got covered in strips of the same papers and then I used a Sharpie marker to write on it and decorate the paper with swirls.
I just kept going, page after layered page...
This paper really likes being turned into petals for flowers!
And here are a few more pages from the second book I am working on simultaneously...but this one I have painted more pages and added sponge brush strokes to the dried under coat of acrylic paint.
brush strokes and
homemade stamps finished off these pages now ready for writing and/or embellishing on some more. I bought an Elmers Painters Oopaque paint marker at the suggestion of one of my blogger friends here. I think I will go try it out now and see how it works! Thanks for the tip!
Happy Blooming Tuesday! What are you up to today?
Will you express yourself creatively in some way?
I hope you will enjoy whatever you decide to do with your day.

  1. I wish I could paint like you. Those swirls and the opposing page are so incredible. Your handmade stamps are great. These pages are so creative and I really LOVE your to do list. Of course, I would add "go to bed when I want to" to my list (grin).

  7. You and others have inspired me to do one of these hard page journals! I bought a blank book at Michaels and have begun to fill the pages with colors and images. I'll post it when it's complete.
