Tonight Is The First Night of Chanukah!

We will light our menorah adding another candle each night for eight nights! When I was a little girl we used to get one gift a night, and the eighth night would be the "big" gift. I remember the year I got my small portable 45 rpm record player!!! That was a "big" deal! Now it's enough to say the blessing over the candles with my DH (who is not Jewish, but knows the Hebrew blessing perfectly), and kiss Happy Chanukah! That's a "big" deal for me every night (of Chanukah and otherwise! ;-) I inherited this menorah from my mother!

  3. Happy Chanukah. And the menorah is gorgeous, something you can pass on to your daughter and hers. I love traditions like that.
