Sweet Grandparents Day in First Grade!

One of my sweetest days of the year now is Grandparents Day at my youngest grand children's school. The school invites all grandparents and special friends of the students to attend a lovely luncheon and an assembly performance put on by all the students; and then we get to visit their classrooms. My grandson made this huge whale that hung from the ceiling in his classroom! My first husband and I learned about star fish from his first grade teacher and were instructed in how to make a star fish with a stomach!
First husband is showing off his star fish!
My grandson and a class mate compare star fish. I love seeing all the other
grandparents and their grand kids working together.
There is so much love in the room!
Teacher Judy told us we did well.
I think you can see how much fun this was and how happy I am!
This year my grand daughter was in the group of drummers who preformed for
us at the luncheon!
These are all members of her first grade class.
The kids are in separate classes this year.
In her class they were making music; the teacher sang and played guitar
and the kids accompanied her on glockenspiels and sticks.
There is art all over this school and this is just one small example on the walls in the out side walkways.
It was such a fun time.
Afterwards we went to their soccer games where each had practice on their respective teams.
And then to their home for a lovely Shabbat dinner, coloring, and just
being together.
I feel so blessed.

  6. Gosh - they're getting so big! they're losing that baby look in their faces, and becoming people. Looks like a lovely day

  7. What a fantastic day for you and hubby and kids!!! How nice that it continued through the day to ball practice and then dinner!!! I know the love was all around you!!! Where was your starfish??? Was it a lot of different colors??? :)

  8. ah lynn, how wonderful. no doubt your grandchildren loved it as much as you and your husband did.
you are all a nice looking fun loving bunch :^)

i know what you mean about the vibrancy of artwork in the schools. i work in 7 or 8 schools and i can instantly tell the quality of the school by the art (or lack of it) on the walls.

    happy weekend lynn ♥

  9. Julie my star fish must be somewhere swimming around; I'll have to look for it.
And that is my 1st not my current husband. (I've had two! LOL) Their other set of grands came down from Oregon for the event (week).

  10. how awesome ! great school to give the grandparents and the kids such a wonderful experience!
Stars shining bright all around !

  11. I'm glad you had your camera!

My mom and dad missed "special friends day" this year because it was the day before thanksgiving and we had a snow day! We all took it for granted until this year when we felt the lack!

  12. Good day! I know this is kinda off topic however I'd figured I'd ask.
