Henry: "Bad Mama!" Mama: "Bad Henry!"
Last Saturday before we picked up the grand kids we stopped in two shops someone had told me about. One was Stonemountain and daughter, a fabric store that has been in business for many many many years. The fabrics and other embellishments seemed to go on forever; and I learned when I was checking out the remnants I had picked up to purchase that there is a whole other level up stairs I will check out next time around. Loved this display of buttons. The other store is Lucius and also a long time establishment...that had long lace dresses hanging from the ceiling; every form of handwork and the tools needed to do each; so much vintage clothing my head was spinning. I will return there too. I found a pattern for knit socks that intrigued me so I bought the size needle required to make them, which later led me to buy a book I needed to make them two at a time. This will be a new challenge for me as I have yet to teach myself to knit socks. If it looks like I am trying to avoid Animal Wednesday this week you are right. I am a little miffed at Henry and he is at me as well. DH brought home a new collar and name tag for him as he hasn't been wearing one for quite some time. We must have gone through five of them a while back one right after the other. He kept "loosing them". I'm in fact placing bets on just how long he'll keep this one on. We never find the lost ones so he must have quite a stash of them somewhere. But after I put it on him tonight he was sitting on my lap. I wanted to straighten my leg that was curled under me. When I did so he heard the bell attached to his collar and sprang up and leaped off my lap scratching my forehead in the process.
Like I said I a bit miffed at him right now; and he is not coming round to visit me either.

ReplyDeleteP{oor henry, poor Lynn. Our dog is frightened of sudden noises too and darts off out of the way. Hope the scratch is not too bad. Happy animal wednesday anyway.
ReplyDeleteLet's face it, Henry is a hoot and has a mind of his own. I'm always happy to see him on your Blog.

ReplyDeleteHenry is a real cat, I see, with a mind of his very own. Obviously one that coesn't like collars...
ReplyDeleteThank you for your sweet and thoughtful comment on my blog. I hope I'll know more tomorrow after the appointment with the surgeon.
Oh Henry, do say you're sorry even if it was an accident! My cell phone makes me jump so I know what that's like. At least you don't have to deal with voice mail:)
ReplyDeleteI am sure you will be able to master socks, they are not that hard, just follow the instructions and you'll be ok. You can ask me anything about it and I will try to help.
ReplyDeleteoops, spooked by the bell. I'm sure he didn't mean to hurt you. been there myself and the natural reaction is "damn cat!!"
ReplyDeleteOh, I am sure henry did not mean it, it was an accident! I hope you two have made up by now :-). xoxo

I decided that when I was in Maine that I would learn to make socks. I never knitted anything but socks. My husband loves them...and wishes that I would get out my knitting needles again and start knitting him some more socks.
ReplyDeleteHave fun and like another comment said, do exactly what the instructions say to do and all will turn out well.
I did start out with a small pair of socks for my first one just so that I could figure it out on that before doing a larger pair of socks.
love hearing your cat story.
This store looks like such a treat. I love the new quilt you made for Henry.
ReplyDeleteJasper can't stand a collar. The sight of one will make him run.
