Feeling Free and Easy

I loved knowing going to bed on Thursday night that I could get up when ever I wanted to on Friday morning, do what ever I wanted to do when ever I wanted to do it.
So I took my jolly good time getting up in the morning. I believe I slept till 8.
Then I came downstairs and said good morning to many of you on your blogs!
At least one of you got email from me.
I had a bowl of cereal with fresh black berries and non fat milk.
I pondered what I wanted to do today.

I decided that I WOULD enter two of my paintings into the current Members Only Art Show.
So I went to Michael's and got new frames for them and matching dark blue mats. (Thanks Patty as I used my gift card from you.) I got a deal as the big 16" X 20" frames were buy one get one FREE!
Then I came home and framed both paintings.

They have metallic gray frames and the dark blue mats really make the paintings pop!
It's a little hard to see here as the sunlight washes them out. You'll have to take my word for it. They look good.
I took the painting to the gallery and talked to Susan the director for a while. It's fun to catch up with the painting world this way. I also brought home my Sunflower III art quilt that was in the last show.
Then I went to the bank, which is where I saw that dog in the drivers seat in the car next to mine!

From there I drove to Buck Avenue where the Victorians are and got my chair out of the back of my car, set it up in the shade (we are having unseasonably beautiful warm sunny days) and got out my pencil, pens and paints.

I really knew I was deep in the zone when a group of teenage girls ran past me and I jumped a foot in surprise!

It felt good to be outdoors painting again. I love the place that it takes me. The feeling I reach while doing this. About an hour later or so...it was done. So I folded my chair. Tossed my supplies in the car and came home.

I still have lots of day left to do whatever I want to do when ever I want to do it. And a whole weekend after that! I hope you feel as free as I do today!

  4. Sounds like life is good right now--ahh-to be able to go outside and just sit and enjoy everything!
As you can see, the cabin fever is setting in here in Pennsylvania--our first major snowfall (unbelievable that I can say that) for the season is here. It brightens everything up--but that's the only good thing :)
Your paintings framed are the cherry on top of the sundae....

  9. I love those kinds of days. We have had a little colder weather then you but its been nice getting out to walk. Not so much to draw. Love the way you framed the paintings. I love both of those but I think the first one is my favorite. I like the 'driver' in that car too. lol They are actually saying snow fluries on Sunday. That will be fun actually.aaa
