Friday Between Appointments Drawing at The Bakery

My journal pages pretty much tell the story of my day yesterday.
I had a corn beef on rye for lunch there in honor of St. Patrick's Day. The flowers on the tables were green and white too. I was staying dry from the pouring rain outdoors, which we are to have well into the coming week apparently. And what with the extra dry winter up till now we certainly can use it. Thus the dark blue gray windows in the top painting. I want to learn how to draw and paint rain!

It is bringing beautiful brightly colored flowers which I'll post later. My front yard is ablaze in color right now!

Wishing you all a good weekend. I think we will be hunkered down indoors and after I get my taxes in order I can play with my art! What will you be doing?

  1. WOW.. Your people are getting better and better. I bet we could tell who these people are if we saw them in person by some of the characteristics you captured here. Both are well done and fun to see. So far our big bad storm we were told was coming hasnt come yet. Figures. lol

  2. As I've written many times, your loose personal style is just great.
Happy St. Patrick's Day and have a great weekend.

  6. Really enjoying looking through your blog. I think it's so great that you sketch in public places. I'd love to but I'm too chicken! The only times I have drawn outside I've tried to position myself unobtrusively (behind tree/in corner, etc) and end up looking very furtive and suspicious!

  7. I really like them both, but the windows on the first one adds atmosphere, kind of a coziness that makes me want to linger. I also like that the dude with the glasses on the left has just a tiny bit more detail than the other faces (maybe the glasses just makes it seem like that?) There is something very appealing to have that detail just on one face and not the rest.

Thanks for leaving your comments as I love hearing from you. Your words of encouragement are why I continue to draw!
