Visiting A Good Friend Made in Blog Land is the Best: Cris and Con

We had such a good time staying with Cris and Con in Oregon on our recent vacation trip.
Cris and Con have an absolutely beautiful garden that they both work in year round to make it be the
lovely enjoyable place to be that it is.

Need I say that Cris is Cris Artist in Oregon and has a blog of her own where she posts more of her garden and lots of wonderful life in her art journals.

See what I mean? So pretty everywhere you look!

On day one we spent lots of time outside catching up in person where we left off in email and blogging. Looking at each others art journals...

me running around taking more garden photos...
so much beauty in every nook and crannie

Cris brought out her "old guitar" and DH tuned it and played it entertaining us with song.
Con plays the harmonica and keyboard and joined in singing when it was something he
was familiar with. (when it was something other than a sea shanty or bawdy Irish song.)

Later after a delicious dinner Cris and I sat at her dining room table and painted and talked and laughed. I drew them; she drew birds!

On day two we were invited across the street to her friend Jill's to see the ducks and chickens and wonderful river view. (I'm saving them for an animal Wednesday post) I love the flowers in the window of the chicken coop!

Annie went with us and helped herd ducks and people alike!

Annie showed us the way to the river, it's the South Umpqua River and is so beautiful. Living there is like being on vacation all of the time.

I am not sure what world problems the two men discussed and resolved, but they were deep in conversation...

...while Cris and I drew and painted overlooking this bucolic scene.

Thank YOU dear friend for showing us such warm hospitality and such a good good good time.

As we were walking out the door to leave Cris handed me this beautiful painting she had just finished . I was bowled over with delight! How wonderful to own yet one more original Cris Marlow oil painting. THANK YOU again, Cris. I LOVE IT.

  1. How lovely to actually be meeting up with a blogger friend and her garden is wonderful. I like the blue furniture too, sets off so well in the greenery. You obviously had a great time.

  2. Golly Lynn, you get invited to the neatest places. What a fun post and documentation of a joyous time. BTW, I loved the painting, but I thought oil paint took months to dry. Guess that's what I know (or don't know) about that medium.
