On The Road...some frustrations and a lot of FUN!!
I've been having a wonderful time on our Road Trip, but a difficult time with Blogging! I bought an ipad for the trip in hopes of keeping my blog going while traveling.Trying to get the ipad to post PHOTOS on my blog is yet to be learned. Several Apps purchased, none mastered!
I am keeping an art journal and have in fact drawn every day of our five days out so far. The above photo was Day ONE second page of journal.
My next problem has been uploading photos to my Web Albums while here in COLORADO on day five at my cousin's home using her COMPUTER. The card reader took off all photos but only uploaded some to my web album.
And only ONE drawn page of 11 done so far! So you may have to wait until I get home to my own computer to see the art I am drawing daily.
I did find another GOOD REASON for putting out so much moola for that IPAD, as I discovered using something called FACE TIME and got to SEE my grand daughter in Portland, OREGON today LIVE! And hear her say her first word: "BEAR" and see her CRAWL. That is the best reason in the world for owning such a device!
Since I cannot send drawings I can at least show you some of the road trip and our adventures via photos:
Saving money by staying in inexpensive motels like the one above!
Enjoying fall color!
My tools for breaking rock to find 70 million year old fish.
But I like drawing better.
DH loved it and came away with a box load of prehistoric fish and trilobites!
I hope I can link this to PPF, but I apologize, as I won't be able to get to every one's blogs this week for the next several as we are adventuring. I will when we return home I promise!

ReplyDeleteWonderful pictures! Looks like such a fun trip! Isn't Face Time awesome? So exciting that you were able to hear your granddaughter say her first words. (Hope that makes up for the other frustrating technical issues!) Look forward to seeing more of your travel journal.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you're having a wonderful vacation! Love the sketch. Can't wait to see them all when you return! So glad the Ipad was worth it to hear your grand daughter, which is priceless. Love all the photos.

ReplyDeleteSo amazing- you found trilobites!!! When I taught school I had so many other real fossils but had not managed to get my hands on one of those ( too expensive). How cool that you were able to do face time- I think it is amazing what we can do now. Your trip looks fantastic but I might stay at a slightly more expensive hotel...

ReplyDeleteHi Lynn ... your road trip looks so fun! Good luck with the ipad and all (I still have a flip phone). LOVE your journal page. Would LOVE to have a piece of wood from that old house, I mean 'motel'. AND YOUR QUILTS are AMAZING. Off to visit more of YOU! Happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteYour road trip looks amazing - I would so love to visit Colorado and how wonderful to be able to do your very own fossil dig - fascinating! I laughed at the cheap motel option - that would be sleeping rough all right! I hope you enjoy every second of the rest of your trip and take loads more wonderful photos so I can travel vicariously with you!
ReplyDeleteRoad trip photos are awesome ~ enjoy each moment ~ (A Creative Harbor)

ReplyDeleteThe photographs are amazing, looks interesting its travel insurance that serves many future artworks. Saludos
ReplyDeleteColorado is such a diverse state. We stayed in Basalt CO this summer where there trees and rivers. Looks like you were in a more desert area - almost moonlike in appearance. Love your journal pages. Hope you get the computer glitch solved.
ReplyDeleteThose photos are amazing... like taking a mini holiday with you... hope you sort the hassles with uploading your sketches as I am really looking forward to seeing more of them...xx
ReplyDeleteOMG OMG I always wanted to be an archaeologist, even in my late 30s when I went to college, but at that age, so saw that wouldn't work, lol. However, it is wonderful to know there is a place I can go to get my fill of it. Thanks so much. The photos put me exactly where you are, I am in awe of your stories with camera AND art work. Love that journal page. You are one mighty talented lady. Blessings, Janet PPF
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh what a great place! I have to go there too! :o)
ReplyDeleteLast time we went on the road (I was having a blog challenge) and I found out things get tricky when you don't have the usual tools! But how fun it is to go places ♥ Thanks for sharing these pics
Lynn, you made me laugh out loud(LOL) at your motel! I also laughed to see they charge $28.00 to "let" you sit in a pile of rocks and hit them with a hammer! Not for me, but I do like fossils. Great pictures of your trip, although I tried to enlarge your journal page and couldn't. I thought on area said "Pest Stop"! Then realized it said rest stop! I did see you are using Tom Bow markers though! Have a great time.
ReplyDeleteHave you tried Blogsy http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/blogsy/id428485324?mt=8, it makes it super easy to post via iPad. I hope you have a wonderful time on your trip.
ReplyDeleteI love those toes on your sketch:-) AND the inexpensive hotel!!
