It is very frustrating to me that iPad/blogger is causing me difficulty in posting as I want to or editing what I posted. I cannot see what I am typing here. Please forgive mistakes and add in missing words for me. One picture is duplicated and should be deleted, which I am not being allowed to do.
Another needs to be enlarged and I cannot do that either. I hope you can and that it will make some sense to you...one more page from my traveling art journal.
I believe it is from our time on the Lakota Indian Reservation in South Dakota.
I will also be linking this to Paint Party Friday.
This top painting was done September 27th at Devil's Tower in Wyoming. I sat on a bench looking up at this sacred Mount. On the walk to it I was able to see the many Native American artifacts that are left hanging on trees by those whose beliefs lend the self to such offerings. It is all so very moving to me.L
The next painting also done plien air sitting at this beautiful site at Sylvan Lake, a place my husband's family camped out at when he was a child living in South, Dakota.
That was done on September 25th.
I am fortunate to be on a 30 day road trip across this beautiful of ours here in the USA.
In the next few days we will be arriving in Portland, Oregon, where we will have the beauty of our children and grand children who live there to experience!
I am sure my iPad was a good purchase. It did allow me to stay in touch with people and posts during my trip; and it was handy in many ways. I think I will keep it. But for posting on my blog the computer is so much easier.
This was such an excellent vacation trip. I agree with all of you who said that I have a book of memories that will last my lifetime. I do. And they are worth hanging on to! We went to wonderful places, saw beauty in nature that is beyond words. I learned more about our American history, as I always do traveling with my historian husband who loves it all so much and brings it to life for me.
Now to get over this darn cough!
Such beautiful scenery. Fun sketches.
ReplyDeleteAll of these sketches are wonderful. There's a lot of detail here to study. I see you got all of the pix on one page. That iPad is a learning experiment for sure but you did pretty good on it this time. If you click on the pix they come up larger and can be read really well.
ReplyDeleteTrying to add an addendum here. Change in plans. We got bad colds and coughs and had to make a difficult decision today. As much as we wanted time with our kids and year old gran daughter we do not ant to bring them illness. So we are on the road back to California
ReplyDelete...one more night in a motel then HOME!
Very beautiful work. I have fond memories of visiting both Devil's Tower and Sylvan Lake on family vacations when I was younger. Too bad you're not feeling well. Safe travels on your journey home.
