Most of you know that we got sick on the last week of our planned month long road trip and had to come home a week early to recuperate! So what did we do? We sat in recliners, took our medicine (s); and waited for our energy to return. There wasn't any energy to do much, but I could draw.
The top two drawing/paintings were done from photographs I could see on my iPad. First is Allie, our one year old grand daughter. She is a real cutie!
And then there is Henry V, who is also a cutie, no matter how stern he tries to look.
Oh there he is again, this time drawn live while he slept between my husbands knees under the blue blanket. (surrounded by a few other sketches (art quilt/cat toy/part of a buffalo leg)...
And when you get really really bored you draw what you see, which is only your own feet!
and then because you don't feel like getting up and doing anything else, you draw them again in a different position! Feet make good models. They don't balk at sitting in one position for as long as it takes.
DH must have been feeling better this evening...I drew him playing guitar.
But now we are both finally feeling a lot better; I'm back to work, he's back to enjoying being retired,
and soon we will make up for what we lost on our road trip and go see the grandchild...
and we hope Henry will eventually forgive us it all.

Who knew being sick could be so much fun?
ReplyDeleteYou crack me up.. you drew you sitting there with the sketch book in your lap and drew your leg on the sketch book. too funny. A nice way to keep occupied while having to sit there with no energy.. Henry is adorable as usual.. all great sketches but will you please pull up your sock?? LOL HPPF
ReplyDeleteAwesome sketches, really love the one of DH playing guitar, so cool! Allie, Henry and your feet (!) make me smile! :)
ReplyDeleteI am sorry you were sick but this is such an amusing post...it really made me laugh.
ReplyDeleteYou are a very clever artist too:)
xx
I love this! :) Especially the little kid and the cat. Made me smile! :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear you are feeling well. It is such a nusiance to be sick. I usually make zentangles when I am feeling unwell or bored. I am not very good at that but it is a doodle that keeps coming out of me. I also draw my hands when bored or sick.
ReplyDeleteYou weren't too sick to be creative. These are wonderful (and I am glad you are feeling better).
ReplyDeletewonderful you had the energy to draw while sick. that's dedication for sure. glad you are feeling better now and back to the old schedule.
ReplyDeleteWell, you made good use of your being sick. So lovely to see how you spent your days. Love your cute little grand daughter with her big glasses.

ReplyDeleteWonderful post. I hope you both are feeling better. Kitties are so funny. They do eventually forgive you for leaving, but sometimes it takes a while. They love to make you feel bad, even if for an hour. Great pages. Happy PPF
ReplyDeleteLove that baby with the sunglasses and the guitar player is inspired! Hope you are feeling much better! Happy PPF!

ReplyDeletesuch charming pieces, each one!
hope you feel better soon, wonderful whimsy on the page... and in the words...
ReplyDeleteGet well soon!
ReplyDeleteLove seeing the grandchild and Henry V. but most of all I love seeing the feet. A few weeks ago, I drew my own shoe for this challenge. Yes, it was also on my foot as yours are. Sorry you had to end vacation early due to illness. Our fishing trip in CO was cut short by my dh's illness. It's the pits! I'm not sure I'd be able to draw/paint if I were ill.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fab drawing of Allie- you have to frame it and give it to them when you go. I know you said your energy has returned, but do take it slowly please- not too much all at once. Have a hppy PPF and weekend too.
ReplyDeleteooooooo, I love your drawings!! so fresh and whimsical!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteglad you are better!

ReplyDeleteI hope you are feeling much better - but I really like the sketches you have managed to complete despite feeling yuck. I have drawn my feet a few times too - especially when I am feeling sick and uninspired!
ReplyDeleteIt's no fun being unwell but you made the most of it!
