On Wednesday, not my normal day there, I had lunch at Taco Jalisco's.
The "Floor Guys" were there!
Carlos was there too.
He came by my table and saw that I was drawing the floor guys (lower photo, far left)
so he went back behind the counter and drew them too on the back of his order pad. (top photo)!
It's really fun having an artist friend to draw with this way! Thanks Carlos, for letting me post your wonderful drawing.
Another fun thing was coming home and showing my DH my ink drawing of the two men, and hearing him say: "Oh yeah, it's the guys who did our floors!"
See me smile huge!
Two guys KNEW WHO I had drawn!
Then I drew all these folks. This begins my second year of drawing at Taco Jalisos. So maybe the beginning of BOOK 2! The Couple" is there on the right, but I had to draw him in front of her due to who I could see when, because of the crowd... the guy on the right with the cap is one guy drawn in two views. The dark man far right was sitting right in front of me.
I think I've drawn the guy in front with the tie before.
The two guys on the right are talking across the table to two other guys in black.
Linking these drawings over at Paint Party Friday!
Follow there via the icon on my side bar.
Lots of great art to see.

ReplyDeleteCongrats to Lolo. It will be a fun book to have.
ReplyDeleteI don't see much difference in your two drawings of the floor guys.
They look the same, yours might look a little younger but wow you both captured
the same features and look. You just keep getting better and better.
Love your work! How fun it is to see these people...funny how the last painting was mostly black. Maybe they all sent out a memo because they knew you would be sketching them. haha I still haven't ventured out and sketched in a public place, I need to tho. Happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteSuca a nice story from you today, specily I liked that your husband knew the tvo guys. So glad to read about your book....

ReplyDeleteCongrats to Lolo! Love the sketches, especially the last one with people wearing black - such fun contrast with orange!
ReplyDeleteThese are amazing sketches! I learned to draw by using books by Lee Hammond and while the end products are great, I kind of skipped the whole learning how to just sketch. Your work is very inspiring though, makes me want to go out and buy a journal and get to practicing!
ReplyDeleteYour drawings are just awesome. Of COURSE they knew who they were!
ReplyDeleteWow a finished book. That's wonderful, just like your sketches. Congrat's to the lucky winner!
ReplyDeleteAll around yay!
ReplyDeleteIt's really fun how your sketches have recurring characters. It's like a reality tv series.
ReplyDeleteTaco Jalisco sure seems like a popular place. It's always very crowded there. Love how your portrait and the portrait by Carlos are almost the same. Both very good in capturing faces and expressions.
ReplyDeleteWonderful sketches and really fun to draw and make friends! Congratulations to Lolo and looking forward for the published book. :)
ReplyDeleteIt is always so much fun to see what is happening at Jaliscos. I loved all of the colors in your sketches this week. I know if I went there for lunch I would feel like I know everyone already.
