New Couple At The Deli and Art Quilt at TJs with link

Last week I ate lunch outside at La Borgata Deli downtown. They make good soups. When I sat outside and drew that sign and the planters, and the one woman I could see through the window sitting inside I was eating a 12 oz bowl of homemade broccoli cheddar soup. It was good. The sun was shining, it was warm and people who walked past me on the side walk were smiling.

I also told the proprietress that I really liked their lentil soup and wondered when I'd have it again on Wednesday?

This week I went back again on Wednesday, and lo and behold they were serving the lentil soup. She said she made it due to my request. But she said not to count on it every Wednesday "because that man over there doesn't like it." Apparently he prefers the broccoli cheddar.

I've seen this couple there three out of the five times I have eaten there. Often we are the only people in the shop at that time. I knew I wanted to draw him the first time I saw him, but it seemed we were sitting so close there was no way I could do it without him knowing.

Yesterday, they were sitting across the room and that big barrel obscured me from them (I hoped) a bit. I just love his long down his belly beard and curling mustache.

On Tuesday I went to TJ's (Taco Jalisco's) to eat and draw. There was a foursome sitting right under my art quilt hanging on the wall right above the guy with red hair holding his glass
so I got to add it to my picture. For those of you who asked here is a link to the art quilt photos from an earlier post. Click THIS.

Posting to Paint Party Friday and you can see the other artists art there via the icon on my sidebar.

A Special THANKS to all of you who left suggestions regarding self publishing a book last week! Your input is invaluable to me. I really feel like I can do this now. Just wondering if I can make it affordable how many might actually be interested in owning a book of my art from around town?

Have a great weekend!
And Happy Creating!

  4. Because some of the businesses are featured you could add their information to the paitning and it would be a local business advertising opportunity for them to offset your expense Happy PPF!

  17. People who know you will want your book for sure. Others who are attracted to your type of painting will also. And I would think that the frequenters of the restaurants would want books for themselves and for their friends. So I'd say go for it. Publish that book. Your drawings are always fun. BTW, how does that guy eat broccoli cheddar soup and keep his beard clean?
