December 25th Takes Us to the Ocean Shown on Animal Wednesday

On December 25th, my DH and I drove to Bodega Bay!
It rained very very hard almost the entire way.
When we got there we stopped in at the Tides Inn for two cups of hot clam chowder,
drove up to the headlands, sat in the car listening to the pounding of the rain on the roof of the car
and enjoyed the view.

The sea gulls came by hoping we'd open our window and drop some of our sour dough bread outside for them to eat ... we did!

It was gray and overcast, wet and soggy, but very  very very beautiful.

I took out my large drawing pad, and my new pens and drew the scene from inside the car!

DH worked a cross word puzzle. I helped with a few answers!

At four o'clock we went back to the Tides Inn, as we had dinner reservations there ... we enjoyed our window seat over looking the ocean. The rain stopped after we sat down, and didn't start again until we left.

He had scallops, and I had the prawns! They were delicious!!!

While we ate the sun peeked through the clouds ... and we had seen a rainbow on our way in ...

It was a lovely way to spend the day!
and then we drove home in the rain

Allie Bel came in here for Animal Wednesday
to show you how she
signs "mouse"!

Happy Animal Wednesday!

  1. Looks like a lovely day even if it was rainy. The view was worth it. Loved how you drew the ocean while including the cars dashboard. Wonderful and of course Ally is adorable no matter what she signs. :)

  3. The sketch which shows the inside of the car as well as the view is wonderful - your sketches are so full of imagination even as you draw and paint real scenes!
