Something I wrote and submitted and had been waiting to see published was finally in print! It's a slick looking glossy paged local mag and we are on page 10-12!!!! A three page spread! (around a few ads, but what the hay!) You can see it too by going to www.vacamag.com and clicking on the top blue magazine cover, wait a minute and it will come up, then just flip to page 10 and there it is!!!! Several drawings from the book including the drawing Carlos did of me. Yippee! Fun to see ourselves in print! It continues for two more pages!!!!
The next day I had a hair appointment so I walked downtown for that, I stopped in at the bakery and picked up a handful of "our magazine" to take back to my office, and a copy for Rose Ann who does my hair. She thought it was cool.
Then after she made me all pretty I went to Joe's Creekside Cafe for that spinach and strawberry salad. I kept wondering if the veggies and fruit were organic or not? I am really becoming a nut about organics.
Oh, want to hear something funny? When I was at the salon I asked Rose Ann if there was a shampoo I should be using since I let my hair grow out to it's natural color (gray/silver/white...a mixture they tell me) and she showed me something called "goo-away" that gets rid of "build up" and is to be used only once a week. It will make my gray sparkle for at least a day. I read the label and it said: "100% Vegan". I knew it was for me!
These people were all sitting out at Joe's too. The sun was shining, but it was chilly. The two women on the far right had sat at one table, and then decided to move over one where there was (I guess) a tiny bit more sun in hopes of being warmer. I didn't stay as long as I might have as I was just too cold sitting there. So I got a box for my half my uneaten lunch and went back to my office.
I used that extra spinach in the dinner I made myself in the evening. Boy, I sure hope it was organic!
I'll link this up to Paint Party Friday and Sunday Sketchers. You can get to both via the icons on my sidebar.
Thank you all for visiting me and for the fun comments you leave. I love them so much. I try to get to as many of you as I can. But a lot of my time now is spent in the kitchen concocting foods (organic) on the stove, or with my new dehydrator. You can read more about this in my earlier posts. I will devote at least one post a week now to food and how this becoming Vegan is affecting my life. Stay tuned! I have never thought of myself as a "foodie", but I think it's happening!
Had to come and look for your new blog to comment. it doesn't come up on my dashboard for awhile but is in my email first. Wanted to say your work is improving steadily. Wonderful works here. Love how you got the library in the background. Little bits of detail peeking thru. I too am finding it hard to get back to everyone right now too so probably wont post one this week. But HPPF to you this week. :)
