Ever pick up the wrong pen to draw with only to find that it smears all over the paper? I grabbed a Pilot pen from a drawer on my way out of the house on Thursday and used it to draw this at Tacos Jalisco. And it smeared, and smeared and I thought this was going to be a wasted effort. Until I got home later to paint it and discovered the forgiveness of watercolors. I dare you to find where the ink smeared in this picture now that it is painted!
It was a full house: "The Couple" was there, even though only the guy of the couple shows in my picture (wearing his black with yellow pineapples shirt); and "The Floor Guys" were there, but you only see the back of the head of one of them. Carlos was there, but he was so busy waiting on tables he did not make it into this drawing. We talked about our art, and that he's going to LA for two weeks to visit a friend; and that WHEN HE RETURNS we'll HANG OUR ART on the walls there for an on going ART SHOW!!!!
We've been talking about doing this for over a year, and now it looks like it's actually going to happen! I'm so stoked!
It was a musical day in Town Square when I drew this. Two guys, one with a huge bass sat on a big rock listening to others play, perhaps waiting their turn on the stage. Meanwhile a guy with a pony tail read the newspaper on that bench. I was sitting behind them at the Pure Grain Bakery eating a broccoli salad with red onions and sunflower seeds trying not to get too much of it on my page!
I'll link this up to Sunday Sketchers so be sure to drop by there ON SUNDAY via the big tree icon on my side bar!
It's Fenton's ice cream parlor at the Nut Tree Plaza in Vacaville. You can get a huge delicious Hot Fudge Sundae there!
Have a good week!
OK I looked and could not find where you smudged the ink. More fun sketches here. :)
