Happy New Year ...

I'm back from two weeks away for holidays, time with family! I did not draw one line
while I was away. I feared the desire and ability had left me.
But now I realize I just needed my focus to be on family, my husband, scenery, and having
a good time in other ways. It was a nice break.

Today I was back at work and had lunch at Tacos Jalisco.

"The Couple" came in at the same time I did. He held the door for me.
We both headed toward the same table. Nice of him to ask and gave it to me
then taking the one in front for he and his wife.
That gave me great drawing subjects and a wonderful way to start the new year
of drawing there. It felt like old times.
September 2013 began my third year of drawing at Tacos Jalisco.

Carlos was there and greeted me with a huge hug and kiss on my cheek.
His dad made my vegan veggie bowl.

I ate and drew feeling right at home.

 (black ink, and colored pencils)

Then I drew these folks sitting a table in front of theirs and to the side of us.

My first SF drawing is a spot DH and I frequent often on our jaunts to the City. It's on the Marina Green, where we've many times sat under that big tree in the middle of the grass in our canvas chairs to read and watch kids play around us.

(black ink and Windsor and Newton watercolors)

We always stop at Hyde Street Pier (no relation to Ann as far as I know) to see the tall ships!

Up the street a ways is Pier 39, a tourist spot where people and sea lions hang out.

(white pen, watercolors on brown paper)

While my drawings got more and more personal I drew the church where my college graduation in 1988 was held after completing my Masters program in counseling.

Wishing everyone a healthy and happy New Year for 2014! Thanks for your frequent visits to my blog, for your wonderful comments that mean so much to me, and for being my blog land friends.
