Too Little Time, So Many Pictures! Lynn Cohen

When I get ready to post on Thursday each week I am always amazed at how many drawings I managed to do in a weeks time. And these are not even all, as I have another bunch I am making in a journal for a surprise gift for someone close to me.

But here they are this weeks bounty: the good, the bad and the ugly! I actually like the paint kit at top. It's such a wonderful tool, these pans of color by Winsor & Newton!

And the pens in the cup. Both of these done originally for my other blog:
Paper, Paint, Pencils & Pens where we are drawing to a double theme right now: "Human's and their Activities" and "Art Supplies".

Humans also need gas in their cars and I drew this quickly while in line the other day at Costco hoping for cheaper gas.

Today I had lunch at Tacos Jalisco my usual lunch haunt.  I drew this in a steno pad as I forgot my art journals at home.

This evening I went back to Tacos Jalisco to pick up some take out food for my husband's dinner. While waiting I drew this couple.

Meanwhile over at Sketchbook Skool we have had three teachers to date. Danny Gregory, from LA/NY, whose focus is on getting us drawing with pen only, no pencils or erasers; Koosje Koonese from Amsterdam, who taught us to use Colored Pencils (blending) and encouraged us to draw outside and in public places. The third teacher is Prashant Miranda from India. He instructed us in watercolor washes, and drawing our story. Tomorrow begins our fourth week, forth teacher.

While watching the informative videos the teachers made for us I like drawing them. You see Prashant above, and Tommy Kane, who will teach later on, below:

Another student at SBS introduced us to Lisa Congdon and her art and I drew her while watching her video speech. She's from the San Francisco area.

This was a play at drawing the sky out our living room window as it turned from daylight to night time with Spectrum noir cool grey markers. A new product I found at Joann's in the scrapbook department. They come in groups of colors in blending shades six to a packet for $14. I got them using a 50% off coupon! A good deal when you think that Copic markers cost $7.50 each.

Another drawing of Prashant. He sang and played guitar to us on one of his videos. What a charming guy he is too.

A watercolor journal page ... Yes, I am still vegan, ONE YEAR this month! ...

... and a marker pen and ink page in another journal. I have so many going at once.

And finally two watercolor washes of skies done out side in my back yard while looking up! This a white cloud formation in a blue sky behind new growth on our fig tree.

This one was a totally blue sky with an airplane flying across it leaving it's white trail behind.

It was a good and productive week of drawing, painting, penciling and playing. Life is good.

Thank you for all the good wishes you all sent to my husband post surgery last week. He's still in the recovery process, but is getting better every day. He can walk around some, but controls pain mostly by sitting. He's bored out of his mind. But this too shall pass.
Patience.

Wishing you a Happy Paint Party Friday! Go there to see other's wonderful art via the icon on my side bar.

Thanks for your visit and your comments. I appreciate both! And come again!!!!!!!

  12. What lot you have been creating in a week. Lovely sketches too. I'm trying to sketch with black pen only, but find it so hard not to be able to erase. Probably meant to let loose after all. Happy PPF.

  19. Lynn there are so many great things here it's hard to comment on them both! But I love the sky drawings, both with your new markers (they look like fun!) and the watercolor, and I love the little fig leaf peeking into the side of that drawing…and the sketch of Tommy Kane with pigeon, very striking. Thanks for sharing all this!
