Wondering if your end of the year feels as busy as mine does?
It's time to make gifts so I am busily knitting up a storm. A family of three dolls for my three year old grand daughter are in the mix. Two done, one to go. I will show the real dolls after she gets them but in the meantime you can see my sketch of these. Notes include sources and artists of patterns used.
And older grandson likes when I draw him so I drew from a photo on his Facebook page, he and a friend.
And then I painted it with watercolors and framed it. I hope no family members are peeking in here or there will be no surprises!
We are lighting candles for the Chanukah Festival of Lights at our house this week. I drew this Lenox Music Box I receive as a gift from my dear lifelong best friend Patty a few years ago. I bring it out each Chanukah, my grandkids love to wind it up and hear it's song. And it reminds me of the sweet times Patty and I got together each December to exchange gifts for her Christmas and my Chanukah. We shared sweets, sweet talk, fun gifts, friendship that went back to our earliest childhood days; now I just have the memories that are still sweet, but I do miss my Patty.
She will be in my heart to my dying day.
I made a Christmas card for my friends at Tacos Jalisco. I turned one of my lunch time drawings from there into the card by writing Merry Christmas & Happy New Year on the backs of the guys at the counter shirts in Spanish!
It's been a busy year, a creative year, full of great fun and adventures! The new year offers more, as I will be continuing in Sketchbook Skool. I plan to attend more life figure drawing on the UC Berkeley campus; drawing with friends (East Bay Sketchers); drawing at cafes and restaurants.
I take this time to wish all of you a happy Holiday Season, Winter Solstice, Summer Vacation,
(I know this is an international community and we are not all in the same time and weather zones)
Happy New Year! Happy Life!
Enjoy!
Be Healthy!
Peace be with you and yours!
Be Creative!
And here is a special FREE gift from Sketchbook Skool. Check it out, you will be glad you did.
