Portraits of Best Friends in Fabric
What did you do this weekend? I bought a few books, studied them, chose an idea and ran with it. On Saturday I learned how to layer fabric and fusible web and to cut out photos and pick shades in light, medium and dark fabrics to construct portraits of myself and my friend Patty. (You saw us in my Friday post in case you want to compare these to the photos I cropped). Sunday night at 9 PM I finished the top sewing and satin stitch borders on each. Now I am tired! ;-) And I know why. But it sure was fun. The book is The Quilting Arts Book by Patricia Bolton. The article is "Making Portraits" by Maria Elkins on pages 122-125.
